Corona - the solar exclipse sun flares kind of corana - installation at Copenhagen Light Festival February 2021.
Installation description from copenhagenlightfestival.org/lightworks-2021/:
CORONA – BLACK HOLE SUN
WHO: Kollision
WHERE: The front of Nordatlantens Brygge, Strandgade 91,1401 København K
WHEN: From 6.30 – 8.00 am and again 5 – 10.30 pm
ABOUT THE LIGHT WORK
Corona – Black Hole Sun is one of the festival’s light works, whose message we so desperately need at this time. The work is a re-creation of the recognizable corona that occurs during a solar eclipse. The rare experience of the life-giving sun standing like a black silhouette, with a sharp and vibrating ring of light rays around it. A gloomy feeling that our entire basis of existence has been put out of play for a short while, but also a rare and amazing experience that heralds the return of light.
The light work was conceived by the design office Kollision in collaboration with LiteNordic Spaces and Martin Professional and was created specifically for Copenhagen’s waterfront, prominently mounted on the old facade of Nordatlantens Brygge, whose brick stages the work’s basic idea in the most beautiful way.
The work appears as a clear and easily decodable circle, on which programmable light is mounted, which radiates on the facade in such a way that the illusion of a solar eclipse is formed. The passer-by sees how the light radiates from the dark center, and illustrates the familiar form of pure energy. Not necessarily an experience we have all had, but which we all recognize as an almost magical phenomenon.
The work intends to recapture the name Corona, and anchor it in the optimism of the sun, rather than the heavy blanket of deprivation that the name has in these times laid all over the world. The work aims to instill hope and provide a luminous experience, in the middle of winter darkness.
A belief that brighter times will return.
Management of the work
The dynamic installation will with small courses create pulse and sun salutations for the spectators. The work’s complex lighting technology layer makes it possible to let the viewer interact with the light via a website on their own mobile phone. By simply sliding his finger across the contour of the circle on the phone, the viewer adds more energy to the sun, which now shines even more powerfully on the surroundings. A living experience in the dark that points towards brighter times. The work is managed by Kollision’s own software, Media Architecture Platform (MAP).

A light installation which has just appeared in St. Pancras Station, titled 'I Want My Time With You'.
Although I'm not especially a fan of her work per se, I quite like this one as it's pretty understated and simple. It can mean what you want it to mean.
Quite difficult to photograph due to the geography of the station. I would have liked to have been able to get a shot of it from more square on perspective but I would have to have had a Eurostar ticket to achieve that and be on the Eurostar platform, but I wasn't feeling that committed to the shot!

I had a very pleasant evening out with Rob again tonight. Original plan was sunset up Mam Tor then a visit to this cave for some lp. I got there early and was nearly blown off my feet as the wind was blowing a gale so back to the car and moved on to the cave.
Once dark enough we got cracking.
Back light from 1 x Yongnuo 560iv gelled orange then a sweep over Rob's silhouette with the blue el wire. Next a liberal sweep in a circular motion from behind with last weeks new tool. LP brushes universal connector and V2 Ryus Lightworks modded super torch. Return to camera and rotated the el wire for a full 360 whilst zoom pulling after a mid-exposure lens swap.
Top night as always buddy.
Cheers.

Rays from Børsen's tower. Notice how visible the dark side of the moon is. It was a very clear sky that evening.
I had the camera on tripod for this shot, but still apparently not kept completely steady (Was able to fix some of the "shakiness" with Photoshop's Shake Reduction filter, but details low and shaking very visible on f.ex. moon and stars).

Installation description from copenhagenlightfestival.org/lightworks-2021/:
SLØR
WHO: Båll&Brand
WHERE: The tower of Børsen, 1217 København K
WHEN: 5 – 10.30 pm
ABOUT THE LIGHT WORK
The dragons and their tails, which wind around the tower on Børsen, grow wings of light when a veil (SLØR) waves out of the historic tower and blows a wind of change over the building and inner Copenhagen.
The angle and formation of the light columns is based on the Fibonacci sequence and if special attention is paid, you may be lucky to see the dragons strike a blow with their new set of wings.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
The work is made by the collaboration Båll & Brand (bll&brnd) mainly working with sound and light. The group has been behind several distinctive light-works in Denmark and abroad, including artwork at Mt Bjolfur (1.048m) in Iceland, and most recently the Royal Danish Cathedral in Roskilde, Copenhagen Light Festival 2020 and Amsterdam Light Festival.
