Olha como é, a Rua do Carmo... Olha como é, a Rua do Carmo
A great evening with all the usual suspects and a mooch around Manchester for the first time with a camera. Why I haven't been out before I'll never know, just kind of take it for granted really.
We went to Castlefield and after a failed attempt at gaining entry to an abandoned building I planned on doing some lp in some arches we found. I was somewhat side tracked by a group of people with led hula hoops and fire pois. And then there was this fire breather who was the find of the night. Having never shot something like this before I struggled at first with settings. The real struggle was the focusing at F1.4 on my manual Samyang 50mm though.
Iso bumped way higher than I like with my camera but I managed to lose it in pp I think. 1/250th @F1.4, iso 3200.
Would love to shoot this kind of thing in a controlled environment and really enjoyed the challenge of doing something a bit different.
Great night out as ever with the chaps and looking forward to the next jaunt already. Cheers.
This is number 100 of my 366 already. Don't know where that has gone.
Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi, India
Chandni Chowk (Hindi: चांदनी चौक, Urdu: چاندنی چوک), originally meaning "moonlit square" or "moonlit market", is one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi, now in central north Delhi, India. Built in the 17th century by the Mughal emperor of India Shah Jahan, and designed by his daughter Jahan Ara, the market was once divided by canals (now closed) to reflect moonlight, and it remains one of India's largest wholesale markets.

Is it a bird?....Is it a plane? NO!! Its CRT Man.
This idea popped in my head a while back whilst thinking of ways to give context to my usually abstract rotation shots.
Had a quick look on google images at superman ripping his suit open revealing the S and framed and focused for myself. It was a bit of a bugger to expose for. I usually shoot at about f16 for the rotate shots so as not to create much noise from the flash bouncing about the room. Had to open up to F8 which was a trade off between good exposure between the two parts of the shot.
Next re framed and focused for the rotate part and noted tripod position. Back to original position and focused. I used a custom wb to create the colours for the rotate part so had to gel my flash green to maintain normal colours on the first part of the exposure. Flash diffused, set to 1/32 power and level with the camera. Fired shutter then fired flash with radio trigger in my mouth. Cap on and onto the next tripod position. Moved flash to camera right, at about 7 foot, snooted on 1/128 power pointing at the Perspex on the table. 1 pop of flash for every 30 degrees of rotate until we got back to the starting position.
Pretty happy with how this one came out as its pretty much what I had in my head.
Now I'm off to do whatever CRT Man does best. Or maybe I'll have a brew.
This was number 14 of my 365.
