I've been putting this one off for an age as I knew the set-up would be a nightmare. I decided to stop being lazy and get it done.
Tripod 1 pointing down at the table for the hand part. Framed up and the outline of the black card drawn on the screen of the camera. Next framed up Lauren behind the diffuser ensuring she fell within the boundries of the black card on the table.
Tripod 2. Next I placed a piece of framed black card in front of the lens with live view on. I marked each corner of the card from the table on the framed piece and joined up the dots. I cut out the section I wanted to be exposed and placed it back in front of the camera.
Started exposure on tripod 1 firing the socked beauty dish. Camera left, 1/8th power @ 105mm. Next a waft of the blue el wire around the top and sides of the frame. Lens cap on, changed focal length from 13mm to 14mm and focused to infinity.
Mounted camera on tripod two and removed the lens cap. 2 pops of the beauty dish high above the camera then a waft of the clear and black fiber optic lp brushes around Lauren.
Raw conversion with minor tweaks in Lightroom.

I had a cracking night out with my mate Paul tonight. Not seen each other for ages so it was nice to catch up over some light waving.
I did this shot in photoshop earlier in this 366 and have wanted to do it in camera ever since. There are no white walls anywhere nearby so I had to rig a bed sheet up across two light stands. The sheet was lit from behind by a flashgun on full power. The outer silhouette was shot at F4 on the Samyang 50mm. Lens cap on and moved to tripod 2 inside the tunnel. Took the Sammy of mid-exposure and swapped it for the Tokina 11/16mm. This was pre-set at F7.1 and focused to infinity. Removed the lens cap and made my way up the tunnel in the darkness. Went behind Paul and lit him with my big torch gelled Lenor gold. Net curtain to highlight the inner silhouette gelled jaffa cake orange.
I would have preferred a leading shadow but I'd run out of steam so here you are.
This is number 312 of my 366.

Enjoy the time off with your loved ones!
It's time for celebration with a long weekend in the USA. It's Independence Day, or simply July Fourth. I took this shot last year at the rooftops of Oracle headquarters. We are watching the fireworks of Foster City.
I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure, carefully pulled the curves, and desaturated the image.

Single long exposure capturing a deep space mass ejection during a total solar eclipse in a neighbouring galaxy or just some pinpricked black card and some leds.
I'll let you decide.

Got a new whip....its pretty rad.
Not really.
I saw a serious shot the other day using this pov and thought it'd be amusing to replicate it on Rileys bike whilst working on my lights.
Socked and skirted beauty dish about 6" out of frame directly above the camera. 1/4 power @ 105mm.
This is number 286 of my 365....anyone for a backie.
