Over Thanksgiving we went to Los Angeles. On Thanksgiving day we drove to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to see the Public Art "Urban Light", a light art installation using 202 cast iron street lamps. I took this backlight shot with the Dream Lens, which has so many "flaws", adding these beautiful lens flares and starbursts.

I processed a balanced and photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Thank you for visiting - ♡ with gratitude! Fave if you like it, add comments below, like the Facebook page, order beautiful HDR prints at qualityHDR.com.

From Fort Trumbull

New London, Connecticut

Climbed up the belfry for a better view of Bruges. It was amazing to see how the buildings and housing are spaced.

I loved the way the sun highlighted certain buildings while the clouds muted the others.

A wonderful nights lp on another colab with Chris T at Chatsworth house on one of their Luminaire nights. We purchased our tickets for the garden which was lit up in various different ways. We got fed up of sticking to the planned route as nowhere was dark enough to put our own slant on the lighting up. We had a wonder "off piste" and happened across numerous spots which were made for light painting. At one point we had an audience thinking we were part of the show.

Chris son pointed this spot out to me and I knew the shot I was after and here it is.

Lit the rocks and shrubbery with the trusty Led Lenser and nestled an orb on the ledge.

Came out for once just as planned.

Cheers to Chris for pointing this event out to me and for another top collab.

Anyone who lives close by should go and see this event. I'm back off there tomorrow night with the little one to watch his eyes light up with wonder.

Magic.

Tonight was one of those nights which are quite thin on the ground on this 365. I took 3 shots tonight. One to work out best exposure for the dome tool, the picture you see above was the second and third which was by mistake. I guesstimated the exposure for my hands and was about 2 stops of light under exposed but managed to drag it back in LR.

1st tripod with my crt on for the domes at my back door and the other set up in the kitchen. Span a dome for every 45 degrees of rotate on flashy mode till I was back at the start then cap on. Put the camera on tripod two, set up the flashgun in the socked and skirted beauty dish on 1/8th power directly above the camera. Guessed focus and focal length then wipped off the lens cap with the radio trigger in my mouth and guessed hand position and fired the flash. Smiled then retired to the front room with a brew.

This is number 307 of my 365.

Why do not you love me?…

I needed an LP fix this evening so out with the cardboard. I had a fractal from my phone I mirrored on both axis then I took it into photoshop to give it some extrude treatment and some colour adjustments.

Framed for the tablet screen and for the cardboard. Shutter open and exposed the tablet screen for 4 seconds and cap on. Moved the tablet and zoomed out and re focused. Laser on, cap off and blew some vape through the laser and cap on. Laser off and went behind the cardboard with my lenser. Cap off and swept over all the holes with the torch then a sweep with the rgb torch from top to bottom of the man on colour fade mode.

This is number 176 of my 365.

Going out Saturday night with the lights and can't wait. Its been too long.

summer and the relaxed ambience of outdoor dining is popular with guest...but seasons come and go.

Drew a blank in the ideas depot this evening so had me reaching for the camera rotation tool.

Drinking glass over the lens in the true spirit of Hob and lit with my torch. Lens cap on, moved the glass and refocused for the rainbow paper which I had cut into a spiral and rested onto a cardboard tube to make it three dimensional.

A single sweep of my torch back and forth for every 20 degrees of rotate.

This is number 39 of my 366.

The beautiful character of the charming Hotel De Pauw in Brugge. After a long day of exploring, it was nice to lay in bed with the window open and hear the cars moving about below.

A spire formation found atop Cathedral Rock. The orange glow almost made it seemed the rocks produced the light from within.
