A small patch morning light on the Pacific coast of Chiba Prefecture, Japan

Simplicity.

And I am now covered in mosquito-bites.

Lately, it's hard to turn on the news, go online, even have a conversation without talking about the scary, negative, and rather dark events going on in the world. But even with that all happening, it's important that we show each other light and act with compassion. I created this as a hopeful visual break in the darkness online.

Quite a lightly loaded 4043 heads south. 66095 is one of the few examples of the class in EWS colours but with DB branding.

From earlier in the year, still warm and dry here..

A lightly armored unmanned tank that thanks to its artificial muscle tentacles has excellent maneuverability and is able to overcome almost any type of rough terrain, such as swamps, mountains or city blockages. Also, the tentacles of this tank have pointed tips, which makes them an effective and terrifying weapon against infantry.

Since I couldn't find menacing enough name for this thing from paleontology, I decided to name it after goddess of death. I built it back in 2019 after seeing this gorgeous monstrosity by Nick. I wanted to take the idea of multiped mechatank further and replace several mechanic legs with many smaller synthetic muscle tentacles to give the whole thing more chthonic look. My model end up being far more simplistic since i'm not that great of a MOCer, but i'm quite happy with the result.

Big thanks to Nick for more suitable name for this machine.

As soon as I deboxed Pocky, I knew that I wanted to customize her in some way. It was important for me to make her stand out; with Lalaloopsy being so popular these days (they're everywhere!), I needed something to make Pocky unique. I already loved most of her stock look, but I wanted to get away from the flower theme and move more towards a dessert theme.

I decided to remove her hair flowers and add on sweet treats, like cupcakes and macarons. I then applied velcro to the little stubs the flowers were attached to. Now I can remove and add as many cute little treats as I want! Currently, Pocky is sporting some super delicious goodies: a cream macaron and a pink cupcake. Some chocolate brown bows make up the backing. I picked up a bunch of desserts (in all different colors) while I was at a craft fair a few months ago. I knew I'd be able to use them for something fun. ^u^

Just in case I miss her original look in the future, I added some velcro to her stock flowers, too. Easy peasy!

The foggy background lent itself to a properly dream-like image. It became a sort of a modern red riding hood. The CG model was rendered out again using IBL with a reflective shadow catcher to get a reflection I could add to the puddle beneath her at the compositing stage. And yes, she's kept her clothes on for this one!

A current fave of mine only because it turned out far better than I originally imagined it would - no bad thing :)

34046 Braunton of Bournemouth leaving Bournemouth Central with an afternoon stopper to Waterloo. Saturday 21 August 1965.

A short trip down the road this morning as soon as I realised the weather man had gotten it wrong, and it was in fact a gorgeous morning!

A light load for 66778 Cambois Depot 25 years on 6D44 Bescot to Toton with just a single wagon in tow seen on the approach to Lindrosa Road foot crossing passing 6H61 Washwood Heath R.M.C. to Hindlow.

Our string of odd little mishaps continues: A few days ago we lost Blanca's name tag. It had grown to be a stylish and personalized hallmark on many of her pictures this year and once it was gone, I realized what an unfortunate loss it really is!

I had only just thrown out her previous collar after the skunk incident because the smell would not come out of it. When I transferred the name tag to her new leather collar, I did notice the ring was a little rusty ... but I just didn't quite register that it was so near rusting through!

I'm not sure I want to try to get the same tag again. I had ordered it from an online company but they did not keep up their end and I had to take it all the way to filing a formal complaint to finally get what I had paid for.

I hope nothing else happens ... I think we'd better tread lightly for a while!

This build is to commemorate Land Rover Defender's 67 year legacy ending in 2015/early 2016.

Cicadas have taken over our back yard. They're harmless, but they're also big bugs. Very big. And not shy at all.

A Woodland Ranger walks lightly on a patrol path that’s been walked for all recorded history…

In the forest outside of Whispervale, you will find the last enclave of Woodland Goblins. These Fuzzmonks have a been inhabiting this enclave for as along as history has recorded. It might even be their origin point and that of all Goblins. Not many other beings have been permitted into this enclave and few details have been written or related to the outside world. Said to be beautiful to behold, it is tucked into a deep and steep river valley. The Woodland Rangers patrol the sides of the valley constantly to ensure their continued survival. Day 4039 Y12D22

This beautiful Eastern Ratsnake "Pantherophis alleghaniensis" narrowly missed getting stepped on. Luckily it sat still for a long time and we were able to get some nice close portraits.

Another one from yesterday!

This one reminds me of the type of photographs I made and edited last year.

I am super super excited for my birthday on friday it's going to be the best.

A very lightly loaded 66301 Approaches Stow Park near Gainsborough with 4E34 05.48 Southampton Western Docks to Doncaster I.Port Intermodal on Wednesday 31st May 2023.

My sister is going to uni this week and she'll be moving far away which means I'll hardly get to see her.

I'm going to miss hearing her playing music in her room at nights. And the company more than anything!!!

Ugh.

I have tomorrow and Thursday off so I already look forward to a lie in :D

Gray langurs or Hanuman langurs, the most widespread langurs of the Indian Subcontinent, are a group of Old World monkeys constituting the entirety of the genus Semnopithecus. All taxa have traditionally been placed in the single species Semnopithecus entellus. In 2001, it was recommended that several distinctive former subspecies should be given full species status, so that seven species are recognized. A taxonomic classification with fewer species has also been proposed.

Genetic evidence suggests that the Nilgiri langur and purple-faced langur, which usually are placed in the genus Trachypithecus, actually belong in Semnopithecus.

Gray langurs are large and fairly terrestrial, inhabiting forest, open lightly wooded habitats, and urban areas on the Indian subcontinent. Most species are found at low to moderate altitudes, but the Nepal gray langur and Kashmir gray langur occur up to 4,000 metres in the Himalayas.

Here are a couple of Intermountain N-Scale CGW F-units posing on my prop at the RPM meet in Collinsville, Illinois last July. I put Unimate couplers on all my B-units, hence no air hose on the F7B. 1408

While shooting some Wild Sacred Datura Blooms today I came across his 3-4 Footer, hiding in the grass. It was about a foot away from the plant. This little beauty is a Pacific Diamond Back Rattlesnake.

Day 258 / Feb 5

Watch in lightbox, PRESS L!

The cold slips through my skin,

into my blood and startles my heart.

Suddenly it’s winter,

fresh air, slightly burning in your throat.

Silent mornings, cold clear days.

Suddenly it’s winter.

(Written: Jan 16)

This was incredibly painful to do, because it was SO COLD, and my feet burned everytime I was standing there, so after each photo I would run inside and warm my feet on the carpet till they'd stop hurting, and go out again.
