Bronze electric lamp fixture in the Replica of the East Room of the White House, located at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda, California.
This is identical to a lamp fixture placed in the East Room in 1902.
The East Room in the White House is 80 feet by 37 feet. The White House was occupied in 1800, but the East Room not finished until 1826. Nearly bare of furniture, it was designed to be a meeting hall but was primarily used for banquets. Little is known about the lighting in the room before 1873, except that it featured candle-lit cut-glass chandeliers manufactured in Bohemia, Germany.
President Ulysses S. Grant redecorated the East Room in 1873. The walls were covered with gray and gold wallpaper, and rows of pilasters (false columns) added to the walls. Chandeliers lit by natural gas replaced the candle-lit chandeliers installed in 1826.
The East Room was massively renovated again in 1902. The famous architectural firm of McKim, Mead, & White restored it to its early 1800s style. At this time, bronze electric light standards in the Federalist style were added. The gas chandeliers were removed, and Bohemian cut-glass chandeliers emplaced. The wallpaper was removed, and the room repaneled and painted white. The pilasters were retained, but replaced with ones in a more historically correct Neoclassical style.
The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum opened in 1990, and was taken over by the National Archives in 2007. In 2004, the $15 million Katherine B. Loker Center (which forms the southern wing of the complex) opened. This 47,300-square foot addition almost doubled the size of the library.
The Loker Center includes an exact replica of the White House's East Room. Kevin Cartwright, the museum's director of institutional programming, is credited with coming up with the idea for replicating the East Room to serve as an events venue. Matt Construction of Sante Fe Springs, California, oversaw the design and construction of the replica East Room.

Central Savings Bank a.k.a. Apple Bank for Savings, 2100 Broadway at 73rd Street, New York, NY (York and Sawyer : 1926–28)
Well, when it is raining hard and it is gray and dreary it is good to start looking through the windows in some of the shops in the French Quarter. This is an antique lighting and furniture store and it had such a warm appeal to someone dripping wet and cold. I could have crawled up in a corner and been very comfortable. Location is New Orleans, Louisiana.

Wall sconce in the dining room at Stan Hywet (pron. "Stan HEE-wit"; Olde English for "stone hewn"), the manor house built in Akron, Ohio, by F. A. Sieberling (who founded Goodyear Tire & Rubber).
The house was designed by Cleveland architect Charles Schneider in the Tudor Revival style, and completed in 1915.
Hugo Huber, an interior designer from New York City, decorated the interior. Huber worked closely with family matriarch Gertrude Seiberling on the home's interior design.
Gertrude wanted the entire home furnished in antiques, but F.A. argued the family needed comfortable, modern furnishings. Huber compromised by selecting Tudor-era antiques as well as contemporary furnishings with an antique look. Huber ensured that everything fit the overall décor of the home. Gertrude accompanied Huber on numerous shopping trips to New York City to identify modern furnishings, and both Sieberlings traveled to Britain with Huber in January 1915 on an antique-buying trip.
Ninety-five percent of the furnishings in the home belonged to the Sieberlings.
Gertrude died in 1946 and F.A. in 1955. The Sieberling children founded a trust to own, maintain, and manage the house and grounds as a house museum representative of the Gilded Age and Akron's industrial past.
