There's a story behind this photo. When our older son was in his Freshman year at UC Santa Cruz, the Loma Prieta Earthquake hit, causing a temporary closure of the campus. When he returned several weeks later I purchased (from the campus's surplus warehouse) four of these heavy redwood light fixtures that had previously been suspended from the ceiling in either the Student Union or Cafeteria. Everyone standing beneath them must have been terrified as they swung back and forth banging against the ceiling. Twenty years later, we re-landscaped our yard and incorporated all four into fencing. This one is under attack from Nasturtiums and a California Native Calystegia vine.
This photo was taken in a cafe I frequent called "5 Dromoi". I was there with some friends and as we were talking and dronking, it came to my mind that the lights on the mirror created a composition.

This is a deceptive view. The brick wall is in the foyer, lit by skylights. The dark rectangular shape in the foreground on the right is further back and part of the open (lower) living area. There are three steps (not seen) leading up to this hallway. Access to the den, bedrooms and bathrooms is on the right across from the built-in display shelving and cabinetry on the left.
Shot with two off camera stobes (Leica SF60/Leica SF C1 trigger), diffused with MagMod Spheres on light stands along walls near ceiling. Lights to right and left side. Camera at height of chandelier and tethered.
