Great light all over. This is from the morning sun, the windows are NE facing. There's plenty of light for most of the day, but not a lot of direct sun. I prefer it this way, south facing windows are great for heat gain, but way to harsh if you're trying to work from the light.

Front side is about 12' high and back half is about 8' high (3.7meters front, 2.4meters back)
Built on pier blocks, walls, floors and ceiling are insulated.
Metal roof, double pane windows, front windows are not operational, but side windows open.
I did not do the construction, but I did plan it out :)

i remember the morning of my grandpa's - funeral i woke up singing groovin by the rascals.
i listened to that song the entire morning going over in my head the memories i had of him. the cool-laidback-ness he embraced; this song was perfect for him.
i wanna dedicate this shot to him. i can just picture him slowly strolling through this lightfilled conservatory...just groovin, on a sunday afternoon.

I'm just right now coming home from a long working day and a visit of my beloved brother. This evening we watched an amazing movie called "Tales from earthsea" really moving and touching... one spoken sentence stuck out: "Life is no self purpose" - "Das Leben ist kein Selbstzweck".... wonder-ful :)

A luminarium is a light-filled, inflatable sculpture, somewhere between a womb and a cathedral, designed to invoke wonder and awe. The UK-based luminarium specialists Architects of Air brought one of their most magical creations to the Castle Park as part of the Kilkenny Arts Festival 2013.

It was freezing outside... at about 5 degrees at the most and there were horrible wind chills; I was only able to get 3 shots of the lunar eclipse that night [so I didn't freeze and die]. It lasted from 7:40 to 11:00PM. I thought it was really amazing though... the moon was beautiful and full. This shot was taken at about 9:30 or so, halfway through the eclipse.

This fella was sat on a thirty foot tall telegraph pole as we drove past. I took this through the open window of the car. I usually shoot aperture priority, but had been messing with manual settings earlier in the day and forgot to switch to "A". The shot was horribly underexposed.....but RAW and lightfill in lightroom saved the day..........that's why the sky is so blue.

my portrait inadvertantly depicts my struggle to hang onto the magical lightfilled qualities of the celebration. The family cars in the driveway, my sister putting on her boots behind me, all reflected at different angles in the two doors at my parent's house, with their suggestion of mundaness, and time-lapse (a Marcel Duschamps ssp?) contrast with the gorgeous wreath, the almost stylized spruce tree and the ball of light, which is actually the flash of my new digital camera! Yay! I am looking rather detached and jaded I think, and a tad blurry, which is, in fact, how I am feeling just now about the whole holiday thing. We try so very hard to make it be wonderful, and sometimes it works and sometimes its just another day.
