Head's all over the place today. Was nice and calm and then plonk - someone threw in a spanner and now it's gone screwy. So how this turned out is fitting. SOOC apart from vibrancy level and blue saturation drop.

new setup: sb600 full power with diffuser behind me at 7 o'clock, about 6ft pointed slightly down. White reflector at my 1 o'clock to catch flash light and provide lightfill. Camera at 12 o'clock. Triggered with hahnel wireless remote.

A lovely box addressed to "Tess" sat on my porch in the sunshine today. I smiled as I spotted the heart-shaped cut-outs and hand-drawn beards and banjos.

I sat down right there and proceeded to open it. I was so smitten with the piece of fungus, wooden spools that had unraveled, and round little lightbulb tied in ribbon, that I hadn't even opened the mysterious flat rectangles.

I was FLOORED. The thoughtfulness of Samantha is unparalleled. Not only did she include two small prints, but her amazing book as well!

Anyways, I am speechless and a bit sad that this is the best photo I could muster of this delightful randomness.

Some friends of mine asked me to shoot an interior remodel project they had done in a condo building downtown. Here's a sample shot from that session. The condo, which is located in the historic El Cortez Hotel, is currently for sale. Contact Pauly or Ivan and they can refer you to the seller. The model here is Pauly and Ivan's IT consultant, Heather Eves from IT Heroes, who we drafted into service for this shoot.

Happy Birthday Bonnie!!

Hope you have the most wonderful lightfilled and blessed birthday...

May this Lily be a bringer of joy and laughter to you.

The Hyatt Regency San Francisco’s Embarcadero Atrium is a true architectural marvel, a space where cutting-edge design and the spirit of the 1970s meld seamlessly. Designed by renowned architect John Portman, this atrium boasts the title of the world’s largest when it first opened in 1973. Stepping inside, visitors are greeted by a towering, light-filled space that rises 17 stories, giving an unparalleled sense of scale and grandeur. The cascading floors and geometric lines draw the eye upwards, with glass elevators whisking guests to their rooms in full view of the vast atrium, adding to the dynamic experience.

What makes the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero Atrium so unique is its daring use of concrete and glass, typical of Portman’s Brutalist-meets-futuristic style. The openness of the space gives it a modern, futuristic feel, yet it still remains welcoming thanks to its thoughtful design. You’ll find lush greenery and water features that soften the industrial elements, offering a serene oasis within bustling downtown San Francisco.

Strategically located along the Embarcadero waterfront, this hotel’s central atrium has hosted numerous high-profile events, even appearing in blockbuster films like High Anxiety and The Towering Inferno. It’s also perfectly situated for visitors wanting easy access to iconic San Francisco landmarks, from the Ferry Building just across the street to the nearby Financial District and North Beach.

Stay at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero and experience a legendary piece of San Francisco's architectural history firsthand, while enjoying all the luxury and convenience of a world-class hotel.

The Royal Danish Library, held over seven stories, not only contains traditional library functions such as four reading rooms, but also a concert hall, exhibition galleries, bookshop, café and restaurant.

The atrium is actually 24 meters high, and from this viewpoint, the balconies appear wave-like akin to a guitar......

Sorry for not visiting your streams... I am having an awful migrane - and I can't stay in my office for long... Hopefully I will be fine again tonight - at the latest tomorrow...

See you then. Have a most wonderful & lightfilled day everybody!

The top level of the 24 meter high atrium unsurprisingly is known as the "Grand View".

Wishing you a wonderful and lightfilled year to come... blessed with joy and fulfillment of your dreams.

...with my camera ;-)

Hello my friends!

My pc is still a little bit crazy... I don't find the source of the problem, but my camera is still working (as you can see :-)

Wishing you all a lightfilled sunday. Hope everything is well...

with warm greetings,

Lars

Great light all over. This is from the morning sun, the windows are NE facing. There's plenty of light for most of the day, but not a lot of direct sun. I prefer it this way, south facing windows are great for heat gain, but way to harsh if you're trying to work from the light.

Built on pier blocks, walls, floors and ceiling are insulated.

Metal roof, double pane windows, front windows are not operational, but side windows open.

I did not do the construction, but I did plan it out :)
