Painting with laser light over Fort Armsteads heavily vandalised exterior.

I class this as a successful failure. I went to the Light Horse Interchange at the junction of the M4 and M7 motorways. I had scoped out a spot that I thought would yield a good composition. I wanted the feature light visible, the lead in lines of the multiple roads heading in all directions and some light trails.

In the end, this pano got me there but I have cropped, skewed, scaled, transformed and cloned this thing to the point where it bares little resemblance to the original. I am mostly happy with it. The fallen road sign was a lucky coincidence. I will ponder this one and perhaps go back again. Soon.

"Chairs in the Morning Light". Challenge: Panning. This is a photo of the legs of my dining room chairs in the morning light. I was just playing around with the beautiful light reflection under the table and tried the panning technique we learned in MISA.

A "low" light shot in low light--ISO 1000.

Actually I shot a lot of low light images this past week, in the chapel at the cathedral for children's choir camp, but I had this in mind all along and gave in to temptation.

Not terribly well designed heating controls. The selected option is illuminated brighter - not that you can tell here.

What does the bottom symbol mean I wonder? Some of the symbols can not be seen when sitting in the driver's seat!

Beautiful light trials, creating some patterns that resemble the same trials made by a nerve (or heart, being more common :P ) pulse.

This is the children's accommodation block of the Orphanage at Luchenza, near Blantyre in Malawi.

There is no carpet ,no doors, no running water no toilet. There is one electric bulb in the whole building. The children sleep 3 or 4 too a room on a straw mat and most have no possessions except the clothes they stand up in.

And yet they are some of the happiest people I have ever been fortunate enough to meet.

The orphanage is their light at the end of the tunnel. There they are fed (once a day) and are safe and receive an education. The orphanage only has room for 60 children. They are the lucky ones.

The orphanage has been open for over 10 years and some of the older children have left to find work. Some have returned as teachers for the newer children.

They have become their own light at the end of their tunnel.

I love the light in this one

My first attempt at light painting a car. Good fun but much more difficult that imagined. Very hard to get it right!

Both are made up of 2/3 photos.

Will be out trying again some time soon.

To really light up the middle calla lily I placed an electric tea light into it so it is light from within.. Some light from the chandelier but mostly from interior light. I kept the aperture small and long shutter speed. Did not want to go above ISO 800. My intent was color but it works better in BW. The background is actually a deep navy blue table cloth drape over the ubiquitous Amazon Prime box.
