Nauset Light was constructed in 1877 as one of two towers in Chatham for navigation, of the dangerous shallows and perilous rocky coast.
Summer 201
Heading south out of Republic WA along the Sanpoil River valley. The sun was up but I was on the shady side of the hills. The sun finally got high enough to back light the trees so I had to stop for a bit.
Headed out to Schwabacher's Landing on this particular morning for sunrise....the fog was thick when we left Jackson Lake Lodge and it didn't look like there would be much of a break from it. The Teton mountain range was completely obscured the entire drive down, give or take a few areas where you could catch a fleeting glimpse. I had all but given up before even arriving but much to my delight, the fog lifted just enough to provide us with this glorious scene complete with a beautiful hint of light and color. So serene and peaceful.
Yay, the weekend's here...hope everyone has a great one. Many thanks for all your visits and comments!!!!!

Lost Light – I was out shooting the storm last night and styed until dark to shoot long exposers of the clouds moving. The sun has set about 45 minutes before I took this shot and the sky had been dark for a while when these clouds started to glow in the east like it got lost during sunset. I decided grab some of the light in my shot. It was too dark to focus my camera, so I put my flashlight on the foreground rock and focused on it.
The technical – Nikon D810 Tamron 10-15mm at 21mm f/2.8 for 465 seconds. Processed in Lightroom.
Amsterdam: Trying to get some light trails on the canal. Unfortunately it was not that busy, more luck on the road.
I captured this at the Great Sand Dunes NP in Colorado on a Partly Cloudy afternoon. As I was watching the light and shadows move across the landscape it reminded me of an old silent B&W movie.

Beautiful colours and light over the Ocean in Arrecife, the Capital of Lanzarote. Taken at first light next to the iconic Castillo de San Gabriel on the coastline of Arrecife. Worth the early start...

I was talking to my co-workers during lunch today about light painting and how relaxing it was. One of them said that it sounded like therapy, hence the title. :-) Hope everyone is having a relaxing middle of the week. :-) Image taken using strobe lights and Plexiglas with a black background.
