Steven Spielberg at the Festival de Cannes (2013)
To continue my serie "We are the light", I've decided to edit pictures of some "stars" I've took in photo on film with a disposable camera.
This serie is about the 'light' we want to show to people. We want to look bright, at our best, always happy and beautiful, all the time, everywhere, especially on social media.

For Our Daily Challenge topic - 'Empowered.' While reading in bed this morning watching the light climb over the board fence and into my apple tree and my room. Wiki is a solar-powered cat!
A composite I made for CPS with the theme "Paint With Light."
This was my origional conception, but I couldn't make it happen all at the same time, sooooo I had to piece it together in photoshop.
4 elements used
paint rollerer and red swoosh
paint brush with blue scribble
paint bucket
green eminating light
Red and blue light came from LED flash lights, The red glowing paint on the paint brush was actually the juice from a Glow stick I cut open. Green light was a zoom effect on a small glass filled with green glow stick juice.
Total cost of production : $4.99 plus tax for the glow sticks, everything else was laying around the house.
The title is not meant to be in mockery, but only a reflection of my fascination when I saw these men unloading these huge slabs only to realize that it was styrofoam so hopefully not backbreaking although maybe tedious.

I was up late last night and I had all the lights off (was watching tv) and the only lights that were on, were in my bathroom. I had noticed the great light and shadows that were peaking through the door and going on the floor and walls. I grabbed my camera and took a few shots. I think it makes a pretty cool abstract image.
Went out on Tuesday night with our local camera group RSG had dinner & drinks at The Flying Saucer then a few of us went out to shoot the downtown area.
Then me and my road dog Will -AKA- Aperitive went out and shot the Sugar out of this, lol.
Thanx Will I had a great time & it's been a while since we got out.
A carnival of light is an event in Finland in one of the most popular amusement parks. It is usually held in October and it lasts one week.
In this particular picture you see a whirl in action during carnival of light. In the background you can see a rollercoaster with nice lighting.
Make sure to check all of the pictures from carnival of light.
Sometimes it's not about beauty, perfect composition, or light. But it's about ideas, and technique.
This photo is straight from the camera. No processing or photoshop. I have the RAW file if you'd like it.
EDIT: Click here (opens in new window) for an explanation of how this was done.
From my first attempts with my canon ae-1. I am officiallly in love with that camera.

Also from my weekend getaway to Tom's family's beautiful cabin in NH.
Ailsa Craig from Dunure . Interesting fact: Ailsa Craig is an island of 99 hectares in the outer Firth of Clyde, 16 kilometres west of mainland Scotland, upon which blue hone granite was quarried to make curling stones.
Vintage bicycle light, label "lucifer". See at the Oregon Handmade Bicycle Show. Anyone know anything about this light?
Take a look at my Autumn album :-)
I took this shot at the lake last weekend. The specialty at this place was that the light was reflected underneath from the lake surface. As long as the weather was good, I thought I should take some autumnal pictures. So this is one of my impressions...
Margaret Turner commissioned me to paint her Talyssa light and childlike! :) Here she is now finished and naked in all her glory!
A lot of people have asked me where I get the wigs I use in these photos and they are actually from Margaret's own etsy shop! ^_^ You can find the shop here here: www.etsy.com/se-en/shop/BJDminicouture
