Missed this image from the fall...and it took a little work to get it to look the way I saw it. Gorgeous light broke on Valley Road in Jefferson, NH for sunset in October, highlighting the trees and lower ridges with dramatic cloud over head.
A hair more processed than I usually post, as I try to get things right in camera...Would love to hear thoughts on light, color, saturation and impact...if it doesn't work, let me know!

This is my first pictures of the northern light, and the first real time I see it too, so don't hate me yet! If someone has some good settings to come with, speak out.
"My dear friend, what do you intend to do? What, if not to believe God's counsels, to believe Truth who cannot deceive? This is his counsel to you: "Come to me, you who are heavily burdened, and I will refresh you.""

Today, 6 October, is the feast of St Bruno, founder of the Carthusians, and this photo was taken in the church of Sta Maria degli Angeli which was once a Carthusian church in the centre of Rome, built into the former Baths of Diocletian.
Happy Valentine !

I tried a new light painting technique for this. I suspended a torch from the ceiling with string and span it around with the camera underneath on bulb mode.
The chronology of the Ronda arab bahts starts at the 13th-14th centuries. The bath is divided into three main zones, following the Roman model of thermal buildings:cold water, warm water and hot water bathrooms. The hydraulic system of the thermal bath has arrived to our days almost complete.

I light my candle,
melting it clear
the air whispers,
sometimes too near.
My candle burns
yellow, blue, white,
I keep it going
all through the night.
Sometimes it flickers,
moving in torrid patterns,
circling, dwindling, sparking tatters,
flame wanes, then rises up,
springing form what you thought was no more.
It keeps on fighting,
melting wax as time goes by,
the candle is me,
and it is I.

Ouch! I've accidentally deleted some of my recent uploads(>_<). So here I upload them again. No need to comment or fave.
Light painting with a torch in my hallway.
Image made up of 3 exposures. Post processing included changing the colour balance and using a layer mask.
Also used liquify to make some shapes.
Replaced.. slight crop. There was too much black space at the bottom, was bugging me :)
Couldn't decide what to go for with the "Redux 2014” theme. Thought about the November 10: Film Noir theme which I did late last time but really enjoyed setting up. In the end, decided to go for July 28: Energy theme since I took the picture while on holiday with my iPhone and was not entirely happy with it.
An interesting light bulb that I came across. I liked the shape of the filament.
I'd be grateful for any comments.

My participation to the 55th weekend contest by lense[.]fr : "Sound Factory".
The aim was to illustrate a song with a picture, the title of the photograph was to be the title of the song.
I must admit I rather tried to illustrate the title through the composition, rather than the song's lyrics ;)
