Yay. My design has been very well-received.

I call it "Links"

And this is just a prototype to show our designer customers how they can use our system to design their own fixtures.

However, since even a lot of designers are not all that visionary sometimes, I'm going ahead and designing some other instances of this concept, so people can "get it."

Now if I could just get better photographs. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong....

Omissam has been in hiding ever since that Mussolini thing in Italy. Old Benito claimed Omissam ripped off his recipe for Spaghetti Vongole. It wasn't true, but, Benito wouldn't change his mind and eventually went to war over the misunderstanding. Omissam fled to the Pacific Northwest and opened a restaurant. A few years later, Omissam recieved a postcard photo showing Benito's body hanging upside down at a service station, and, finally, Omissam felt he could serve Spaghetti Vongole without fear of retribution.

The Los Angeles Public Library was designed by Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue and opened in 1926. It's in an Egyptian Revival style with sphinxes, snakes, mosaics, and of course the pyramid on top of the building. There is a huge globe chandelier in the dome under the pyramid. The Central Library was heavily damaged in 1986 due to an arson fire. It was restored and expanded by Norman Pfeiffer, and reopened to the public in 1993.

The Los Angeles Public Library is on the National Register #70000136 and probably should also be a National Historic Landmark.

J. E. Neilson Company was founded in 1839. It sits directly on the courthouse square, and is located within the Oxford Courthouse Square Historic District which is on the National Register of Historic Places #80002257.

Had a relaxed evening hanging out at the lovely d.lish's house last night for pizza/wings/etc. Her littlest one is so ga-ga over my daughter it is hilariously cute. My kid was a trooper and ran around the house with them for a couple hours while D. and I sat and talked. D, if you thought he talked about her a lot before last night...!

So grateful for the new friends I made this year, the dearest friends I've kept, my family; grateful for creativity (both mine and yours), inspiration, opportunities, and challenges.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends and a happy day to the rest of you! It's good to think about what we are grateful for any day of the week. :-)

While boarding a train at Disney's Animal Kingdom, this light seemed to scream to me. I loved the orange huge of the wall and the interior of the light fixture and the green exterior of the light fixture.

#LightFixtures - Ceiling mount light fixture – When choosing the lamp, we must take into account the weight of it and the kind of roof we have in the room. In our case, this is a false ceiling of plasterboard, so that our light may not weigh much. Step by step to installing a ceiling lamp in room. The...

The Symphony Center was on an Architectural Walking Tour of Chicago buildings.

I was staring at our dining room light fixture and thought if I were a fly zooming just under this is what a planet would look like against the sun. Terrifying.

A bit too modern. At least for an alley in the Old Town.

Four years ago, we went to see Garrison Keillor and A Prairie Home Companion in the Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit, Michigan. We had a great time. Prior to the show beginning, I was able to take several photos of the theatre itself, which is ornate and a sight for the eyes.

Built in the 1920s, it is the largest surviving movie palace of that era. The architect was C. Howard Crane, and it is done in an Art Deco style. It is a National Historic Landmark. Its restoration was completed in 1988. It is now the venue for many performances.

At the time we went, things were busy for me on the homefront and I didn't get around to looking at or posting photos from that night. The time has come!
