The spare bulb from my Maglite, resting on the spring which sits in the base of the torch and holds the bulb in place (with some protective foam).
I've always like photos of lightbulbs and this week made me appreciate just how difficult they are to get.
My wife pointed out that it sort of looks like it's own little world within the glass.
The arc of 'light' above the filament was created by me waving my iPhone torch over the bulb while the shutter was open.
Cropped on either side to centre the bulb and shot with a Raynox macro converter. The glass portion of the bulb is about 1cm.
Strobist: I had a Canon 430ex on a stand directly behind my had. A Vivitar 285HV was raised about a foot above the camera and shooting through a white umbrella.

I'm a shameless copycat, I know.
This www.flickr.com/photos/opus104/2045020629/ is so good that I just had to try for myself.
Strobist: One SB-26 right below the bulb bounced off of the back wall; black cardboard on the sides
That lightbulb moment when you realise you should be on the beach caturing the sunset 'proper'. D'uh!
Taken at Swansea Marina.

Theme Looking Up

Looking up at a light fixture outside my house a very close up macro of the inside of a light bulb in the fixture. The cloudy stuff is the dirt on the bulb and how the light interacts with it.
See it large on my blog.
Wow! This just hit my highest explore position ever thanks everyone!
Not much chance to do any photography at the moment, so thought i'd look back on some images taken in Penarth and Cardiff during Winter last year, when I was crazy enough to go to the Pier to watch the sun rise.
