Just showing off my Windows XP Desktop.

On the top you'll see an enlarged Quick Start menu with the 33 applications and folders I access the most. It also features an easily accessible Desktop drop menu, so that I can open files located there without minimizing anything. It's the same with the two drop down menus to the right, wich are the two folders I access the most. One for my things, and one for my mother's (the PC is actually hers).

The weird yellow boxes to the right are 3M's Post-it Notes, which can be minimized to a tiny little square, as seen to the right and left of the expanded notes.

The start menu bar has been darkened with Zune Final, as featured on Lifehacker.

My greatest problems is probably the system tray. I keep too many applications running all the time, such as eBoostr, DU Meter, Comfort Clipboard, AVG 2008, Google Desktop, LogMeIn, etc.

Oh, and of course, there's the always open Firefox 2 (which will quickly be replaced by Firefox 3, uhm... tomorrow).

There's a option in DD-WRT's advanced wireless settings that is Xmit Power ,The default value of xmit power of wrt54g is 28 and I tured it to 70 as the DD-WRT manual said. This really enhance the wireless signal intensity observably!!!

Interesante el detalle de incorporar imágenes de las noticias junto a los enlaces correspondientes al pie de la noticia que está viendo el usuario.

This desktop is pretty simple. It includes Stardock, CD Art Display, Samurize with some stats and a todo.txt file. The interesting thing about the Samurize stuff, is that it's in my own handwriting, because of that recent Lifehacker post which told me about yourfonts.com

By the way, I took the picture myself.

What To To When You Don't Have Chopsticks And You Are So Hungry Looking At Your Cup Noodle Feeling Lonely In A Hotel Room After A Long Day's Work

Get it? Now you don't have to google or go to lifehacker.com to search, like what I just did and found nothing.

This is the third time happening in my life during travel. I had already get over with the sense of desperation and went straight to the solution. For the record, the first time I used two toothbrushes in a Tokyo hotel, the second time a toothbrush and a tea spoon in a Frankfurt hotel. Well, now I'm in a Seoul hotel and this time two tea spoons. According to this logic, I will encounter the same situation again in a year or so, using one tea spoon and another thing I don't know yet what it will be.

Now if you have a better solution other than "remembering to get chopsticks" or "bring a spare pair in the luggage", do enlighten me, please. I lied, it was total desperation tonight when it happened.

Before going to my first SXSW in 2006, I made some business cards to print at home. Since people might recognize me for the Printable CEO stuff shown on LifeHacker, I made my card look similar to it.

I included my picture because I can never remember what people look like myself. On the downside, it looks kind of like a real estate agent card.

This is printed on really awful generic cardstock from Staples.

The first mock up, good enough for the day to day right now.

For the Lifehacker desktop pool.

Another desktop i put together with rainmeter configs designed by others

i wanted to save on resources for this one so ive got a thin black taskbar with startkiller, hid the running apps and used shortcut icons rather than a dock to save on memory/cpu

the clock, sidebar and bottom bar/bottom configs are all from kaelris enigma and the notes are from elemental by teknoftw

the wallpaper i saw on interfacelift - dolph by richard mohler and it stuck out to me, i especially like the centre so didnt want to hide it with a middle taskbar

Wireless keyboard which I don't use much, but it connects to the Dell Dimension 4600. Luckily I have Synergy to bond all my computers to the main computer's keyboard and mouse.

Hey guys, this is my first attempt at a theme for Snow Leopard so please be nice. I messed around with the loading bars and buttons etc. to make this simple theme.

Terra wanted to take home the huge cardboard thing, ala Dana in The L Word. Luckily, I convinced her not to.

Newest setup, got rid of all menubar apps and used geektool and bowtie on the bottom.

Rainmeter with Object Dock w/ Ecqlipse Icons, Launchy w/ Dank Skin, and Rocket Dock w/ Reflections Icons.

REMEMBER, I JUST PUT THIS TOGETHER. I GIVE CREDIT TO ALLLL THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THESE CONFIGS, WALLPAPERS, SKINS, PROGRAMS AND ICONS!

Weather not showing due to XOAP Server Down.

I've recently adopted a motivational technique advocated by Jerry Seinfeld: for any task you want to do with regularity, print out a calendar and mark every day you do the task. As Seinfeld describes, "After a few days you'll have a chain. Just keep at it and the chain will grow longer every day. You'll like seeing that chain, especially when you get a few weeks under your belt. Your only job next is to not break the chain."

I've been doing this for going running daily. It took only the extremest of circumstances for me to break the chain last weekend. If it weren't for this simple device, I would not have exercised half has much as I have so far.

You can find the template for this particular calendar here.

This is my desktop using Samurize.

This was my old steampunk workspace that was featured on Lifehacker!

Vista made to look like windows 7.

Wanted to get a nice looking desktop with some photos... used Picasa 3 to establish this look. Try it for yourself.

I ways back, I saw a desktop in the LH pool that was similar to this, and it inspired me to make a concept of my own! Pretty minimal and simple.

What's In this Desktop:

clamp is standard spring clamp. it actually has a hole in it already that fits a #1/4-20 screw. #1/4-20 is standard size for camera mounts (in the USA at least). I added the red thumbscrew. www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/115/3061/=2rs0q2

Minimalist desktop with everything I need, and nothing I don't. I used a wallpaper from InterFaceLift and I am using Rainmeter. There are only two skins running: notes and the big clock. Its large so I can see it from across the room. I use a plain Windows 7 dock with all my programs pinned to the taskbar, but I have it on autohide so as to minimize distraction. When no other windows are up, it acts as a nice, calming piece of art sitting on my desk.

Thanks for checking it out!

I’ve been enjoying the wonderful new features in the recent Windows Live Writer Technical Preview — it’s my fave blogging tool, and despite the name, these additions are mostly very easy-to-use.

Over at Lifehacker, Jared Goralnick shared a wonderfully visual guide which highlights the excitement. One feature in particular, automatic linking, caught my eye: it provides an easy way to simply type a frequently-used phrase and have it be automagically linked. I’ve created a quick video tip showing you how it works in action, and if you’ve never used WLW before, I highly recommend the experience! (Alas, no Mac or Linux version.)
