Technically the track is probably the Rauðhóllvegur and it lies off the road to Dettifoss in North Iceland.
The landscape is pretty much desolate with a few sparse clumps of moss and struggling Geldingahnappur in the foreground. Some sundry vents and cinder cones a little way off and lumps of sharp and brittle-looking lava littering the landscape.
Fans of Andy Weir's The Martian will get the reference. Perhaps more so because of the approaching dust storm...
Yet another archive pic but no funny business with this one - it is what it is.

brickstudios is holding a 3K celebration contest on Instagram, and one of the categories is "Revamp," so I took a couple figures from my recent figbarf day on Instagram, and a couple new old parts I got a few days ago, and I decided to make a couple revamp figs!

2045. Energy crisis. A team of seven astronauts landed on the surface of Mars in search of a new energy source for their home planet – green energy crystals. But they are not alone on this planet...

I had to race to take this shot as the gates to the sculpture garden were being shut right before me.

Inspired from the structures in LEGO Racers 2, which were themselves an extension of the Life on Mars theme. In the game these buildings are purely decorative and only serve as obstacles to avoid during the races staged on the Mars tracks, but I liked the "dug-in" feel of the building with the sloping corner foundations and wanted to explore an interior and expands the footprint a bit.

This render would be the display-ready version with more depth in the base and the sunken floor that I discussed on camera.
Dedicado a David
It seems that soon (so to speak) the man will arrive on Mars and will give life to a new era on the Red Planet ....
I dedicate this to my friend David, who was present at the launch of the Falcon Heavy, the super rocket by Elon Musk last 6 February....prepárate Major ! : )

I used to have one of these "Back in the day..
I wish I'd kept it. It might have been worth a fortune now..
However, it did have a few issues, one of which it leaked like a sieve whenever it rained.. After many attempts we couldn't find the source, so just drilled holes in the floor to let the water out...
This is a so-called Ooops photo :-)
It's my first photo taken with the Yongnuo 50mm. Who follows my stream, knows that I had a tripod carrier! (not anymore, smoker)
I use the lens far too rarely, although it is very good, because of the light intensity. When I looked through my archive, I noticed the photo. In Photoscape I wanted to edit it and I slipped with my mouse and came on the option film effect. An "oooh" came to my lips, it looks like on Mars. I love this movie a lot and also the title song . Well, there are no potato seedlings in the star man's bag ;-))
I hope you like it.

Today is the 5th anniversay of the death of David Bowie but he lives on in his music, lyrics and those amazing outfits. Being a teenager in the 70’s I was very influenced by Glam Rock. I remember the first time I saw Bowie on Top of the Pops, I was in bewildered awe!
Glam bands came and went but Bowie evolved, so if you didn’t catch him in the 70’s, it’s likely you caught up with him later in his career. I was really quite upset when he died and felt a real sense of loss.
I recently read an article about someone who had spotted that David Bowie often looked like a ‘Sea Slug’, and created a blog to prove it. With regard to the Blog, personally I felt that somebody had 'way too much time on their hands', but found some of the comparisons mildly amusing, with no disrespect to the late, great David Bowie.
“Bowiebranchia is a Tumblr account that compares pictures of Nudibranchia and other Opisthobranchia to David Bowie. I know, at first, such a blog sounds a little random. Once you start looking at the images, the similarities work to such an uncanny degree, it’s hard not to imagine that Bowie was actually bitten by a radioactive Sea Slug and developed a superhuman shapeshifting ability, allowing him to summon all of its colourful and imaginative looks.”
I made this collage from a few of the comparisons, there were so many to choose from.

One of the best parts of The Life Aquatic is the Portuguese guy singing David Bowe while playing his acoustic guitar. Here he is with Life on Mars. Love!

Built for Mechtober '23. The idea of redoing some of the Life on Mars mechs has been in the back of my head for a while, and Mechtober is the perfect time to act on it! This is a revamp of 7311: Red Planet Cruiser. Monopod mecha aren't something you see every day... I kind of imagined the discs on either side of the body of the original set as radome-like attachments, since the Cruiser seems more like a scout than anything else.
Vendredi 26 Octobre 2018 – Et ca repars … Non cela ne va pas repartir comme cela, ou alors peux être au mois de mars…ou sur mars … mais avant ça va être difficile…
Here are the 20 sets that represent LEGO SPACE bases. I have happily owned the Spyrius Lunar Launch Site 6959 since it came out, remember playing with a friend's Futuron Cosmic Laser Launcher 6953 and my nephew had a Squidman's Pitstop 5980. Besides those sets I have no experience besides drooling over catalog pics of the other LEGO SPACE bases. Any comments on these great sets?
Nostalgia Factory discussion here.
Unlike the original set, I thought it'd be cool if the "wings" were on arms so they were more maneuverable.
September 6, 2020 @12:25 a.m. EST. I've observed the red planet, Mars, stay really close to our beloved Moon. Those times I just watched the phenomenon from my backyard and then went to sleep. This time, I dunno why, but it seems that Mars was unusually closer to the Moon than my previous observations. Could be my location, but I didn't want to pass up a chance like this.
My fourth build for Mechtober '23. It should be no surprise that this time, I revamped 7316: Excavation Searcher.
I liked the claw design I'd come up with so much, I gave this mech two of 'em instead of the claw+laser drill combo in the original set. I also opted to get rid of most of the "extra" features from the set, like the small flying craft and third crane arm, so this is more like the mecha equivalent of a pickup truck.
