Apocalyptic ruins of Bombay Beach.

The strange and mysterious big lake in the middle of the desert in California. The beachfront portion of this community has been abandoned, though people still live inland a block or two.

Just read a text, it stood "I'm in a confused age, i'm good, life's perfect with my friends. They mean the world to me,love them with my whole heart" when I red it, I started to cry, then i realized one thing. What is my life really? 5 years ago everything was perfect, then I was 11.But after my 12 birthday, everything went wrong, now I get it why I get so happy when someone say my name, now I get it. I have no friends, I dont have anybody,i'm alone. My life is a hell, I become super happy when someone starts talking to me, I love that feeling. There is nothing better than that. Now I am 16, soon 17 what will I have the memories of my youth? loneliness .... I cant stand it anymore. So this is my life.

Residents of Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, gathered together during the past few days to mourn the loss of those shot at Tree of Life.

Reuben and I worked on this idea of life being a journey with obstacles and a prize. Concentric circles came from a friend and the rest is Roo's. Please bear in mind he is only 9!

Tonight is one of those snowfalls with big, ultra wet flakes. The whole time I was driving home, it felt like a snow globe, only without the shaking thankfully.

On March 4, the Office of Alumni Relations, Center for Career Development, and the Graduate Student Association (GSA) hosted “Life After Rice: Alternative Career Paths with a Graduate Degree,” a networking luncheon and interactive discussion at Cohen House. The event featured alumni panelists Dr. Purvez Captain ’93, Dr. Gavin Dillingham ’08, Dr. Valerie C. Moore ’03, ’05, and Dr. Ann Ziker ’98, ’08. Raylea Rideau, Assistant Director at the Center for Career Development, served as the moderator. Thank you to all the students who attended! This event was part of the Civic Career Series, a collaborative event series between the Center for Civic Leadership, Center for Career Development, Office of Alumni Relations, Glasscock’s Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership and the Liu Idea Lab for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for students to explore opportunities for careers in the civic realm. After the conquest of Carthage, the Roman province of Africa (which is Tunisia today) became one of the richest provinces of the empire and many wealthy people here commissioned beautiful mosaics in their villas. The Bardo Palace and Museum is a repository of some of the richest collections of Roman mosaics in the world.

The Bardo brings together one of the finest and largest collections of Roman mosaics in the world thanks to the excavations undertaken from the beginning of the 20th century on archaeological sites in the country including Carthage, Hadrumetum, Dougga, or Utica. The mosaics represent a unique source for research on everyday life in Roman Africa. The Museum also contains a rich collection of marble statues representing the gods and Roman emperors found on various sites including those of Carthage and Thuburbo Majus.

The guide books advised to visit the excellent Bardo Museum early in the morning or during lunch time to avoid crowds. However, we almost had the whole museum to ourselves. The attack by ISIS in March hit the tourism industry of Tunisia badly, leaving the sights and hotels empty. A few glass-encased artefacts were minimally damaged by the bullets but the jewels of the museum, the unprotected mosaics from the various Roman ruins in Tunisia, have miraculously survived unscathed.
