I have 7 foster dogs right now, including these two silly puppies. It's so much work, and I'm usually exhausted by the end of the day, but when I see things like this, it makes it all worthwhile.
I hate the internal life, i hate to be live just only in the imagination, I couldn't tell, couldn't do what i think, i made everythings slow down, sometimes is too late.
I want something else
To get me through this
Semi-charmed kind of life, baby, baby
I want something else
I'm not listening when you say
Goodbye...

OK, I'm digging now because this goes way back to when I broke my leg...Plateau Tibia Fracture to be exact...So 'rehabbing' at the cement pond on The Booty Ranch was a must...along with my 7.5 gallon Lucky Lager half barrel helper...

I thought I would make an abstract from a this small broken twig poking through the surface of a large Gunnera leaf. Only when I got the image on the screen I realised there was a very tiny creature there. This sort of thing always amazes and delights me. I don't know what it is, probably not much bigger than a Springtail but not the right features I suspect. It would fit on a pin head. If you can identify it, please leave a comment
This tree represents lifes darkness, and the sky is the light at the end of the tunnel of every problem. There is nothing that cant be overcome!

These trees and foliage were growing in the sand dunes in Pinery Provincial Park on Lake Huron in Ontario. I was amazed to see how tall some of the trees could grow in the sand. Infrared photo.

Chanel. Still Life. Romanticism

Chanel envisioned a design that would be an antidote for the over-elaborate, precious fussiness of the crystal fragrance bottles then in fashion popularized by Lalique and Baccarat. Her bottle would be "pure transparency ...an invisible bottle." It is generally considered that the bottle design was inspired by the rectangular beveled lines of the Charvet toiletry bottles, which, outfitted in a leather traveling case, were favored by her lover, Arthur "Boy" Capel.
Some say it was the whiskey decanter he used that she admired and wished to reproduce in "exquisite, expensive, delicate glass.
The first bottle produced in 1919 is not the Chanel No.5 bottle known today. The original container had small, delicate, rounded shoulders and was sold only in Chanel boutiques to select clients. In 1924, when "Parfums Chanel" incorporated, the glass proved too thin to sustain shipping and distribution. This is the point in time when the only significant design change took place. The bottle was modified with square, faceted corners.
In a marketing brochure issued in 1924, "Parfums Chanel" described the vessel, which contained the fragrance: "the perfection of the product forbids dressing it in the customary artifices. Why rely on the art of the glassmaker ...Mademoiselle is proud to present simple bottles adorned only by ...precious teardrops of perfume of incomparable quality, unique in composition, revealing the artistic personality of their creator."
This is what "life on Mars" was like for me as a young lad growing up on the Seaboard Coast Line. Pretty much everything had a Mars light, and they were especially cool at night. TVRM's NCStL 710 is one of a few units around which still has an operating example, and it is typically on whenever the unit is working, as is the case here at the NS interchange at 23rd St interlocking in Chattanooga, TN.

Beauty
And a poet said, "Speak to us of Beauty."
Where shall you seek beauty, and how shall you find her unless she herself be your way and your guide?
And how shall you speak of her except she be the weaver of your speech?
The aggrieved and the injured say, "Beauty is kind and gentle.
Like a young mother half-shy of her own glory she walks among us."
And the passionate say, "Nay, beauty is a thing of might and dread.
Like the tempest she shakes the earth beneath us and the sky above us."
The tired and the weary say, "beauty is of soft whisperings. She speaks in our spirit.
Her voice yields to our silences like a faint light that quivers in fear of the shadow."
But the restless say, "We have heard her shouting among the mountains,
And with her cries came the sound of hoofs, and the beating of wings and the roaring of lions."
At night the watchmen of the city say, "Beauty shall rise with the dawn from the east."
And at noontide the toilers and the wayfarers say, "we have seen her leaning over the earth from the windows of the sunset."
In winter say the snow-bound, "She shall come with the spring leaping upon the hills."
And in the summer heat the reapers say, "We have seen her dancing with the autumn leaves, and we saw a drift of snow in her hair."
All these things have you said of beauty.
Yet in truth you spoke not of her but of needs unsatisfied,
And beauty is not a need but an ecstasy.
It is not a mouth thirsting nor an empty hand stretched forth,
But rather a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted.
It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear,
But rather an image you see though you close your eyes and a song you hear though you shut your ears.
It is not the sap within the furrowed bark, nor a wing attached to a claw,
But rather a garden forever in bloom and a flock of angels for ever in flight.
People of Orphalese, beauty is life when life unveils her holy face.
But you are life and you are the veil.
Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.
But you are eternity and you are the mirror.

"Flower in the crannied wall,
I pluck you out of the crannies,
I hold you here, root and all, in my hand,
Little flower–but if I could understand
What you are, root and all, and all in all,
I should know what God and man is."
Alfred Lord Tennyson

This was an oportune shot on a hill in Northumberland, I was shooting some climing portraits and silhuettes earlier hence the large backpack (actually a crash mat for climbing). Might try this again at some point without the backpack.
It's complicated
