Dan Brinkman brought an exciting Pocket Puppeteer program to the library and thrilled the crowd with lots of audience participation!
Donors bought space on a quilt that was finally revealed this weekend. Gail Demkiw put it together..it's really beautiful..and some local crafters helped too. They raised over $7500 with this quilt!

El Dorado's first library was built in 1912 from locally quarried hand-cut, native white limestone. Topped with the Spanish tiled roof, the library was funded in part by Andrew Carnegie. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building is now privately owned with no public access, but it remains as a historic piece of distinguished architecture located across the street from the equally distinquished Court House built in 1909.
A new library was built in 1959 to accommodate the growth of public use of the library facilities. The Bradford Memorial Library was built with a donation by Mrs. Ruth Bradford as a memorial to her husband, Robert H. Bradford. The new library is located at 611 S. Washington.

The library was visited by some animals today and the kids got to pet a goat, a duck and some rabbits among other farm animals!
SJCPLS, St. Johns County Recreation and Parks, and Junior Service League of St. Augustine partner for Little Free Libraries and each is unique to its neighborhood!

傍晚去游泳，出来太阳已经很斜了。我家附近的叶子都快掉光，但学校里竟还是初秋的感觉，10度不到的气温，依然有大哥穿着短裤。阳光透过树的间歇，落在地上斑斑驳驳。背景是学校的典籍图书馆，在美国也不算小，知名的藏品有独立宣言第一次印刷的25张之一，华盛顿接受总统的信，林肯在律所里的桌子。。。

New central library in Halifax had its official opening ceremony today. A bright and colourful building, it was absolutely packed.
The building is a modern building which is cleverly built in and around the remains of a church (most of which had been damaged by fire and demolished.)
I had the day off of work today, so a few of us got together at Adler Planetarium and then made our way to the University of Chicago. I shot inside the Harper Memorial Library for the first time. The student at the entrance to the library was very helpful. She took us up into the loft for a shot out over the library. The library has been converted into a reading lounge, but it is still a very cool location..
Don't forget to join me on March 10th for our second Out of Chicago photo walk. Hopefully we will be able to get into this location for one of our stops. It should be a fun night..

Lordsburg, New Mexico
The Pueblo Revival styled library was constructed in 1937 with WPA funds. It is listed on the NRHP.
The Kids' Backporch Productions brought their Sound of Music show to the library and gave us a sampling of their excellent performance!
Living on an island means we don't have many of the resources that are available in mainland towns. The main village of Brodick does have a library, but for some it can be rather inacessible. So the local council provides the library bus! Not fun to get stuck behind, but otherwise a fantastic resource!
