Many lights and lonely figures. Some hearts must freeze even with all the light and the many gifts that give us pleasure.
Have a nice weekend ALL!

Let there be Light.
Fireman here coming out of a building full of smoke in a training session depend on their lights. Helmet lights are ideal for improving situational awareness in dark environments. A helmet light will illuminate a firefighter's immediate path, help to see potential trip hazards along with identifying nearby victims.

Cathedral in Catania – Sicily.
One very interesting city . In 1693 earthquake have destroyed many cities in Sicily and killed 100,000 people. Catania was rebuild and majority of old city was created in Sicilian Baroque . Very busy city with cars parked everywhere , markets – it really brought back the memories of my time in Athens ( I lived there for over year and the half in 86 )
See where this picture was taken, Cathedra in Catania – Sicily. [?]

If only!! Very grey day on the moor, as the day went on there was continual very fine snow
and it was raw -2.5C without taking into account that windchill - brr
6 hours was quite enough for us today :o)
but …the icicles were amazing!!
That said, I really hope this cold spell ends soon - for everyone's sake, 'specially the animals

Captured just before the sun went behind the hill, it had been cloudy all weekend but the sun came out late in the afternoon on Sunday. We drove over to one of our favorite spots nearby, Lake Atalanta, to catch the last light.
For 52 Weeks of Pix: "Let There Be Light"
I only have two things to say on this one. First, I do believe this has become one of my favorite trees in Portland. Second, early mornings can be so worth it.

I can hardly believe it... first time ever a Flickr Friday challenge was issued and I actually already had just taken a perfect shot for it! I took a lot of these frost pictures, but this is the best one that captures the light. It's frost on a dried grass leaf. :)

The frozen rope is thawed near of the fire (candle).
Dew (Tau in Germany language) is also condensed water due to temperature differences, see also the morning dew.
But also a rope (Tau). In the German language a rope that is twisted.

There had been thick banks of low-lying cloud all day until mid-afternoon when light struggled to burst through at several places along the horizon. I spent about an hour driving to various locations trying to capture that elusive, magical light. :-)

Braai. And baking bread.
/
It is a completely different experience to get to know a country directly. Much is becoming clearer, more intense and more visible. Much remains hidden ...
With what care and almost devout busyness and tenderness the person portrayed prepared the flatbread on the glowing coals, I was very fascinated. A wonderful experience and memory of a land of light and shadow.
Braai is something of a nice barbecue ;-)
This scene took place in a kind of beach bar ...

Braai. Und Brot backen.
/
