Slainte, or "Welcome"---my wife was sitting by the fire, reading, and I thought of #FlickrFriday and its theme, #LetThereBeLight, and thought this might work....not all the candles cooperated....Trappe, MD
Taken for the ODC2 theme today which is "Let there be light". I had a phone call from my sons school yesterday as he was ill (first time since starting there :-(), so today is a relaxing day for him at home ,homemade veggie soup for lunch to get him eating properly again :-)
The weather is awful outside and really overcast, so I opted for electricity here and one very dusty old bulb, ooh perhaps I should have dusted it first!
Explore 11/30/08. Thanks to all of you of course :)
My very first try at a long exposure! I had to brave near arctic weather for this too, 35 degrees fahrenheit. My fingers were red and tingly by the end of this and I could no longer feel my nose! This will be the first of a series of night exposures I want to do. Hope this puts you all in the holiday spirit! :) Also, a big thanks to the special man in my life, Slipstream20v, who stood outside in the cold with me! Check out his photostream!
"There are two ways of spreading light: To be the candle or the mirror that reflects it." -Edith Warton
The shore-lark soars to his topmost flight,
Sings at the height where morning springs,
What though his voice be lost in the light,
The light comes dropping from his wings.
Mount, my soul, and sing at the height
Of thy clear flight in the light and the air,
Heard or unheard in the night in the light
Sing there! Sing there!

In order to get the reflection of the heart from the ring, there must be light.
Another way at looking at this is that the Bible is a light unto your path. - Psalm 119:105 Thy Word Is a Lamp Unto My Feet and Light Unto My Path
This old barn is not far from Palmyra church. Some of you know where that is. I was enticed by the offset cupola. You don't see that often. Texture thanks to Skeletalmess. HSS!
Highway leading into a rain storm in the North Saskatchewan prairies. Same rainstorm as in the 'Saskatchewan Rainstorm' picture. Out of the couple of good shots that came out of the series I shot I think I like this one best. Did some editing using GIMP, being the good OpenSource/Linux user that I am.

Some sun coming thru in a overcast day....
Waiting for the tram to take me home after a photowalk in the forest(zero "keepers" from there) saw the light specks on the house and waited for the tram to come to make this pic(a "keeper" according to me...)

"Let there be light"
BeStill52, light & airy week. A few weeks behind and trying to catch up. A friend gave me the old perfume bottle as a prop and I have been meaning to use it. KK-"lettherebelight" preset.
This shot reminds me of a giant eye with the pupil being the sun and those whispy clouds the feathery eyebrows. Sunset, between Gila Bend and Casa Grande, Arizona caught my attention in the rearview mirror. Grabbed a quick shot from the front seat through the back window while in transit. No worries, I wasn't driving at the time 😉. There's something magical that I love about the light during this time of the day. Almost a year latter I had a "ditto" experience, although this one was taken in the morning. If you'd like to check it out here's a link: flic.kr/p/2qreM8r .
