Quiet, observant, and full of wisdom well beyond her years. She teaches me about patience, and the value of stillness and silence. She has the ability to take in everything around her and dissect it with such clarity, that I often forget she is just a little girl.
But it is her way of facing challenges that most astounds me. Life has thrown her a couple. Occasionally these challenges leave me without words and full of fear but nothing breaks her. She always moves forward, doing what has to be done not without fear, but through the fear with courage and bravery.
She is my baby girl but it is in moments like this, I get a glimpse of her strength and all those wonderful characteristics that define her and I remember, “though she be but little, she is fierce.”
And as she turns 8 years old, I still look at her in awe of the fact that she is so amazing and that she is mine. She is my heart, my everything.

Dedicated when The Natural History Museum opened its doors in 1913, the rotunda is one of the museum's most elegant and popular spaces. Lined with marble columns and crowned by a stained glass dome, the room is also the home of the very first piece of public art funded by Los Angeles County, a Beaux Arts statue by Julia Bracken Wendt entitled Three Muses, or History, Science and Art. This sweet bear broke his golf stick and he wants one for Christmas, so he's getting ready. (I bought it on a thrift store and the golf stick was broken) 🎄

I was searching through my archives of a photo of something that glowed. I knew I had one, but I really wanted something new.
Which is when I looked up from the computer screen and straight at the radio, which was on and glowing.

Lange genug waren meine kleinen Elfen im Wald. Ziemlich zerzaust sind sie schon und drinnen gefällt es ihnen gut.
Im Winter mag ich es auch gemütlich zu Hause, obwohl jetzt so oft auch draußen der Himmel magisch leuchtet, wenn die Engel Plätzchen backen.
Long enough, my little elves were in the woods. They are already quite disheveled and the inside warms and pleases them well. In winter, I also like it at home, although now often the sky magically lights up when the angels bake cookies. :-)
Made this picture with my laowa 15mm wide angle macro lens. I have put the camera inside a leaf. The weird thing about this lens is that everything around it is still sharp.

The Christmas decorations are already appearing everywhere in the shops. Rudolf likes it better to stay with the rose-colored Rhodotus.

This is left hand, palm side between 2nd and 3rd digit (you can see a ring), backlit with an LED torch. You can also see some veins in the top finger which I'd not noticed when doing this previously.
Sometimes I think that it would be worth exploring taking macro abstracts of different parts of the body. But there are two obvious problems though.
First, the only person in the house that would put up with such a project also needs to be clicking the shutter.
Second, how on earth do you get rid of all those Wrinkles of Wisdom? (By the way, I'm still waiting in the hope that the Wisdom will turn up real soon - the wrinkles have been here for quite a while now.) And in any case, why do you think I chose the palm-side?
This was another idea that turned out to be more of a challenge than I had anticipated. It was a task and a half to take, trying to compose and focus in the dark, trip the shutter and keep in the same position without moving (Ed: that's what same position means, surely?)... This is the best of about 20 - it took that long to get a half-workable technique.

Processed in Photolab 2 for the Prime noise reduction.
Cropped in Affinity Photo to get the main diagonal bright line going through one of the corners but still have the two other diagonals showing lightly.
Sharpened using Unsharp Mask and High Pass/Linear blend. Reduced clarity to soften the textures and noise.

I've discovered that because Flickr uses 8 bit jpegs rather than 16-bit pngs and there is a very limited colour range in the picture, the red gradients don't work as well as they might, particularly on some of my devices :(]

Dew (Tau in Germany language) is also condensed water due to temperature differences, see also the morning dew.
