As my Grandmother (Mama) ends her journey, I want to honor her with pictorals of lessons I have learned from her.

My love of rhinestones comes straight from my Mama. She used to have a HUGE collection of old costume jewelry and one of the biggest joys was to go visit and she would pull out box after box of old jewelry, encouraging me to make my "pile" of the pieces that I wanted. I still have much of the jewelry she gave me, although a home robbery, last year, caused a decrease in some of my favorite pieces.

I love you Mama.

"Lessons from Tragedy: A Conversation on School Safety and Preparedness" was held March 1, 2017, and featured the retired principal of Columbine High School and a survivor of the Virginia Tech shooting who then created a national support foundation.

Pictured are Frank DeAngelis, a national-level speaker for Safe and Sound Schools, and Kristina Anderson, founder of the Koshka Foundation for Safe Schools and one of the most critically injured survivors from the 2007 Virginia Tech tragedy.

The lecture was sponsored by the Cutler Public Justice Fund, endowed by David Cutler '74.

Fantastico libro. Os lo recomiendo!

While 2010 was incredibly challenging personally and professionally, as it draws to a close I'm grateful for this lesson in particular. Turn toward the light and away from the shadows. Dream big ass dreams. Chase the impossible. Jump, and sew yourself a pair of wings on the way down.

And don't forget to be humble, graceful, and respectful in case you can't sew fast enough. ;-)
