These are some of the materials I dug out of the cupboard. I would like to begin again with watercolour pencils, too.
When i was concerned for ChiChi's leg i started to look for skeletal info and I found this. Creepy but amazing!
I wanted to take a classic black and white shot. These piano keys were the perfect subject. It takes me back to the days when I used to take piano lessons ……
Overkill? Although the actual canvas looks somewhat better than this, I feel like I have a piece of colorful marble. Not sure that was the object of this lesson!

"Lessons from Tragedy: A Conversation on School Safety and Preparedness" was held March 1, 2017, and featured the retired principal of Columbine High School and a survivor of the Virginia Tech shooting who then created a national support foundation.
Pictured are Frank DeAngelis, a national-level speaker for Safe and Sound Schools, and Kristina Anderson, founder of the Koshka Foundation for Safe Schools and one of the most critically injured survivors from the 2007 Virginia Tech tragedy.
The lecture was sponsored by the Cutler Public Justice Fund, endowed by David Cutler '74.
(www.softballperformance.com/sports-parenting-tips-days-long/)-Rest assured, however, that one day it will end. There won't be anymore lessons, or practices, or games to get to. There won't be any injuries to nurse or feelings to massage.
That's me, on one of my regular gigs... a train trip. That’s a luggage wagon.
I was just writing about music lessons in another context: the player piano in the Ghost Ship warehouse that burned. But it needs it own place:
Player piano-

- when i was a kid, we were constantly moving ( Navy ).
- i remember that my parents tried to give me music.
- i took piano for seven years, probably off and on. I remember a recital- either in Seattle where i played a piece that i can remember. it would take me ages to learn to play it, now. it was real, two-hand playing. geez.
- then i guess they decided that i should have a portable instrument. we were living in a quanset hut in Coral Sea Village, at the south end of Mare Island, near the remains of the volcano.*
- they got me a three-quarter violin and lessons. ( we still have it. George fools around with it a little, but there is only one string. a real repair would be pretty expensive. )
- i don't think i got anywhere with the violin.
- next it was A PLAYER PIANO. we were still on Mare Island, but ouside the gate, in Guadalcanal Village.
- i don't remember piano lessons, this time. maybe the idea was that- if i didn't take it seriously- as least the family could enjoy it.
- it was amazing. piano rolls, not only held a 'recording' of the music: it had a certain person's interpretation of the music. far out.
- i don't remember a conflict, but this was also the time that we got our first TV SET- a huge black and white, tube set, the size of a washing machine. This is the actual set a couple of years later:

- yes, i think the player piano and the TV were there without conflict. It was very fun to "play" it.

* - yes, a volcano.
- we played among gigantic broken boulders with lots of play space, under and between them. one side of the rocks had lava flow lines on them. this is the closest image that i've found:
www.google.com/search?q=volcano+flow+lines+in+cooled+rock...
- it is much smaller scaled, the rock surface covered with what looked like viscous teardrops.
- I'll have to draw it....
