A "less than an inch" sea shell.

I tried to capture it in a very minimal way, I don't know if I achieve my purpose...

Happy Smile on Saturday

It really is the teeniest wildflower and so pretty. I named it after my daughter as she loves yellow so much. Macro Monday theme is less than an inch. Happy Macro Monday!

Reviving themes:

holiday bokeh

less than an inch

multicolour

I could also say "back in the day" as I never see anyone playing marbles any more.

Opaque glass marble by candlelight.

Title of poem by Langston Hughes

I dream a world where man

No other man will scorn,

Where love will bless the earth

And peace its paths adorn

I dream a world where all

Will know sweet freedom’s way,

Where greed no longer saps the soul

Nor avarice blights our day.

A world I dream where black or white,

Whatever race you be,

Will share the bounties of the earth

And every man is free,

Where wretchedness will hang its head

And joy, like a pearl,

Attends the needs of all mankind-

Of such I dream, my world!

Macro Mondays - Less than an inch

It's a great tool, pure joy, and less than an inch the size.

In the scheme of small things, size matter the most.

Bottle finishes or "lips" are almost as varied as the bottle shapes themselves. The term "finish" originates with the mouth-blown bottle production process where the last step in completing a finished bottle was to "finish the lip." Other alternative names for the finish besides lip was "top," "mouth," or "corkage" (Howard 1950; White 1978).

When I brought this tiny snowdrop bloom into the house, it WAS less than an inch. THEN, it got the feel of the warmth and the nice fresh water- and it blossomed and opened up. So... suddenly it was MORE than an inch. What to do, what to do??? I moved in tighter and shot the glorious, ruffly little green and white centre with the yellow stamens. It is WAAYY less than an inch! HMM everyone :-)

THANKS SO MUCH TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AND FAVES. MUCH APPRECIATED!

This is my first tryout with extension tubes. I used my trusted 50mm prime at the end of it. The flower petal is back lit with standard LED torch. I sprayed water on the petal to get some cool macro effects. The presence of this ant ... is sheer luck :)

A small (2cm) pencil sharpener photographed with a combination of old and new.

The lens is a 56 year old Macro-Takumar 50/4, pre-set, 1:1, extended to its maximum magnification. The shot uses in-camera Pixel Shift – merging four nearly identical photos into one, for more clarity/detail. Minor crop off the pencil to the right, to keep the width of the horizontal plane to less than an inch.
