Resting on my open Bible, this is a smiling cross on the end of a kind of hippie bookmark I have in my Bible. It's only 1/2" across and I shot at 1:1 with a tripod and shutter release. Happy MACRO MONDAYS!

If you are kind enough to comment on my photo, I thank you so very much. I will reciprocate!

These glass beads belong to an antique child's rosary beads, very small and fine beads only a few millimetres each....

Weekly Theme (Week 9) ~ Macro Shots At Home

9/16" X 9/16" macro, or 15mm x 15mm, I think this is the smallest macro square I have ever shot! The Kiwi bird from New Zealand.

The curled loop is about a quarter of an inch. I used a 100mm Macro lens with a Kenko 36 mm extension tube.

I cropped this slightly to meet the Macro Mondays theme of less than one inch. This image is less by the width of a marker line.

I have been wondering what my Canon SX60 HS camera could do for image size at its minimum focusing distance.

I knew it could be focused right against the subject when shooting flowers. This time I shot a tape measure to determine the image size in the frame and to see how much I needed to crop the image.

The image size is one and three eights inches when the edge of the lens was touching the metal tape or the plate.

Not too shabby...;))

Macro Mondays February 26th theme: less than an inch

For Macro Mondays theme 'Less Than an Inch'.

The image shows a portion of a very small feather I picked up some while ago on the seashore. It was shot with my macro lens plus three extension tubes, as a ten-shot focus stack. The feather almost certainly comes from an oystercatcher, a pretty black and white species of seabird that is common around here. The feather was very unusual in that it was cleanly divided into a black side and a white side by the central rachis of the feather.

Thanks for the visits, faves and comments its greatly appreciated.

Some of the paintbrushes I use when I get some time to build models. Some of them are already on retirement actually, new ones would look boring. Photographed using the kit zoom macro extension ring.

Happy MacroMonday, and thank you everyone for your visits, faves and comments, they are always appreciated :)

Posting early as I’m back to full time work from Monday!

This is the tip from a well worn USB thumb drive, which in its entirety is around an inch tall. It’s shot under LED torchlight and I played around with reflecting different colours onto the right side to create depth. After trying several coloured cards, the colour I liked best was the skin colour of my hand!

So ein Kordelstopper ist eine kleine praktische Erfindung. Die Kordelenden bleiben da wo sie bleiben sollen und verschwinden nicht in den geheimen Tiefen von engen Nähten.

Happy Macro Monday for all!

Hi,

This is my submission for Macro Monday's for February 26th, 2018 theme, "less than an inch".

It was my wife's birthday this week and coincidentally, I got some flowers for her which made for a great subject matter for this week's theme.

This was shot with the 60mm Olympus macro lens and a 21mm extension tube. The image was then processed in Lightroom.

Hope you like it.

Seashells really come in all sizes and shapes. What you see on the picture measures a little more than 1/2” in diameter (5/8" to be precise). Because of its spiral, the eye is naturally attracted to its center and then slowly wonder away following its path.

Thank you everyone for your visits, faves, and kind comments

Using two extension tubes the depth of field was so thin I had to resort to a 25 image stack .
