Slowly it was time for a liberation attempt for her little brother Robby – you remember the sibling couple? Wilhelmine had scouted the area around the prison and found that it could be very difficult to get directly to her brother. So why not choose a traditional, simple method first? And send Robby a baked-in tool – instead of a cake (as usual) much smarter hidden in a loaf of bread?

It makes me very sad, unfortunately it did not work. The pointy chisel was discovered by the guards in the bread. We do not know why, but it could be that the freshly baked bread just smelled too seductive and the guards wanted to try a piece. Such a bad luck ...

Ingredients: Wholegrain bread (crumbs), this lies together with a tiny nail on a muffin form made of paper. Natural light, supplemented by a spot with a flashlight. Size of the entire picture 2 cm.

I try to make it less than and inch with negative space, but, that can not show the perspective I wanted to show here. Sorry folks.

Left side of tape measure is inch, right side centimeters!

Yes, President Washington… I know.

I know.

Section of the backside of a 1.25 inch diameter street reflector. Captured using 100mm macro lens + Raynox DCR250 magnifier. Longest imaged dimension approx 0.75 inch.

The regular patterning, used to reflect light, resembles Necker cubes- with an optical illusion that makes distinguishing the tops from bottoms of individual units arbitrary.

A 4-shot focus stack... not particularly happy with this effort, but I simply ran out of time!

My wedding ring (version2 since I lost the original in the Aegean 2 years ago). Shot with a 36 mm extension ring and a ringlight with remote shutter. Converted from raw with UFraw in Gimp.

Macro Mondays:Less Than An Inch

I wasn't going to do a Macro Monday today. I looked out the window to see this little guy. He was so colorful. The rains from last night brought him in. HMM!

Love the scent of Hyacinth!

Shot for MM - less than an inch. HMM Everyone!

Less than Half an Inch to be precise! These are model railway 8 spoke wagon wheels at a scale 1:152. Representing a 3' wheel the treads are 6mm in diameter with a 0.5mm flange. The wheels are mounted on 1mm diameter axles each 12.25mm over pinpoints. www.2mm.org.uk

For this photo I acquires a reversing ring and attached it to my 50mm lens.

I measured this to fit the one inch square. Explains part of why these darn things are so hard to read. I always thought it was 65 psi. LOL

A bit of table salt sprinkled around. Just wanted to make sure I was under an an inch. lol

Earning money is such a difficult task... HMM!

Shot for macro mondays, “less than an inch”.

The saucer that goes with it is a little over 1 inch. HMM.

This was my contribution to MacroMonday; but hurt the rule about the capture size. The bottle is indeed less than an inch but you see the empty space arround. Sorry my friends, I had to crop my group contribution. That was the second fault from point of the captures composition.

When this assignment (Macro Mondays theme Less than an Inch) came up, I thought of several objects during the week, even held some in my hands, but wasn't satisfied. Then I thought of filling the small space available with big words. The first idea was to photograph "how to be good". (Not in photography, in life, just in case you are wondering.) I found the magnets for it - but the longest measure was 2,7 cm. Back to the drawing board. I dusted the smaller set of magnets and found words like "sausage" and "sordid" but no "good" - which makes me wonder whether "good" has been lost, or was it considered too general to be included in that set? So, no good. Next idea: "how to be me". However, before I found "me", I noticed that the word "love" was included twice in the set. Love must be important. So: how to love. Naturally a blue question. All it needs is an equally measured response.

Scratches naturally belong here, other minor imperfections edited away, and cropped to meet the requirement of less than an inch, including negative space.
