This is the "new" PO (less than a year old), a series of metal boxes, mid-island, in front of the old Mary Fields Elementary School where author Pat Conroy taught. If you want to mail a package or some other postal service you have to find the Postmaster and this isn't too hard as it is a small island with only a couple hundred people on it. This was our most expensive Post Office, what with 2 round trip ferry tickets and golf cart rental, because you can't bring your car with you when you visit Daufuskie Island. This hard to get to Post Office is fittingly the last one in South Carolina that needed its portrait taken with my maroon Miata in it.

Though her favorite Princess Ariel wasn't really in it, except for a brief number at the end with all the other princesses (there were fireworks too! Oh my!), she enjoyed seeing the skaters twirl and spin like ballerinas, wearing sparkly outfits, hearing the songs, and seeing all the acrobatics in it. Hee hee.

At least the tickets for the balcony was $12.That's affordable. $10 for parking and $20 for the program was NOT ideal, but we couldn't avoid parking, and the program was better than a coloring book that would be wasted...I collect programs for shows that I watch, so I thought I'd scrap a few fun pages onto this program of hers for her 3rd birthday stuff, like I did last year with a book that Auntie Marie gave her (Auntie Marie, I'll take a picture to show you later!). =)

Aiva LOVED the entire show! She may not remember it, as they say kids don't remember much before 5 years old, but at least there are some pictures she can look at when she's older. =) It's hard to take pictures in the darkened arena, but we got a few random shots, and some of her and a picture of Ariel. And Flounder, whom she wanted to buy for me, because she calls me Flounder for whatever reason. Shelton says it's because Ariel and Flounder are such good friends that that's why she calls me that. Hmm. I don't know what other semblance I may have to a round yellow fish with blue stripes, hee hee. =)

Less Than One is an international, multigenerational group show offering in-depth presentations of work from the 1960s to the present by 16 artists central to the Walker’s collection.

The exhibition surveys a range of approaches—from painting and sculpture to drawing, installation, moving image, performance, and photography—sequencing compelling groupings of works by each artist that underscore the often provocative, historically charged, and risk-taking nature of the Walker’s multidisciplinary holdings. Less Than One includes pieces by Lutz Bacher, Ericka Beckman, Trisha Brown, Paul Chan, Trisha Donnelly, Renée Green, Charline von Heyl, Jasper Johns, Joan Jonas, Meredith Monk, Adrian Piper, Sigmar Polke, Pope.L, James Richards, Dieter Roth, and Kara Walker.
