Good lemon Bars we made.
1 cup butter, softened
Unsalted Butter
+1/2 cup white sugar
+2 cups all-purpose flour
+4 eggs
+1 1/2 cups white sugar
+1/4 cup all-purpose flour
+2 lemons, juiced
+Add all ingredients

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, blend together softened butter, 2 cups flour and 1/2 cup sugar. Press into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch pan.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until firm and golden. In another bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1/4 cup flour. Whisk in the eggs and lemon juice. Pour over the baked crust.
Bake for an additional 20 minutes in the preheated oven. The bars will firm up as they cool. For a festive tray, make another pan using limes instead of lemons and adding a drop of green food coloring to give a very pale green. After both pans have cooled, cut into uniform 2 inch squares and arrange in a checker board fashion.
I was worried that the frosty temperatures we've had at night recently would have frozen my lemons, but they seem to be fine. The Meyer lemon bush is covered with lemons in all states of ripeness.

Gin Tonic
Ingredients
1 ½ Parts Gin
5 Parts Tonic Water
1 Slice of Lemon
How to mix
Fill a highball glass with ice cubes. Add all ingredients. Garnish with lemon.

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.

AAW January 5 - 12: Rule of Thirds
WIT: I've been recovering from a cold, and lemon tea has been my saviour. I thought I'd make a tribute to this humble drink with this still life. The hardest part was getting the lemon slice to stay in the middle of the cup, it kept listing to the side, lol!

I have always been intrigued by these beautiful little sandwich cookies.
From everything I read, I was prepared to fail, at least the first time I made them.
Much to my delight, they were a success!
The pink/brown ones are bittersweet chocolate raspberry flavor.
The pink/yellow ones are Pink Lemonade.
The yellow/brown ones are lemon and dark chocolate.
I also filled some with dulce de leche...can't go wrong with that!

So I've had a scoop of Orange and Raspberry but my dessert wouldn't be complete without a palette cleansing scoop of Lemon. Made with a sunflower straight up with just a crop and twist of color adjusts. WRT DoF and importance of no color blocking and tonal gradients that are as smooth as silk, I was really happy processing this image! :)

I loved making these lemons, limes and oranges from fondant. I dried each one before hand painting them and making them shine with a special formula made from sugar which would hang like drips of juice from each one.

Mick says I make good pies. They always get eaten up. I remember the first one I made. The lemon filling did not set properly and the meringue shrank to a small blob in the middle. I was so upset and still get teased about it 40 years on.
