This is Courthouse Falls off Courthouse Creek, descending to Courthouse Valley in the region of the Devil's Courthouse of North Carolina. I know, that's a whole lot of "courthouse", but don't be fooled... this is a place steeped in Cherokee lore, and the tale concerning a giant "devil" creature holding court is legendary. Tsul 'Kalu (literally meaning "he has them slanting", with the assumption it refers to his eyes), also known as Jutaculla, is a renowned figure in Cherokee mythology who plays the role of "the great lord of the game". He was often invoked in hunting rites and rituals. Tsul 'Kalu is also believed by some to be the Cherokee version of bigfoot, as he seems to share several physical and behavioral traits with how the creature is thought to be. The tale of Tsul 'Kalu is one of the best known of Cherokee legends, and it centers around this place. The Devil's Courthouse is an actual place, a mountain located at milepost 422.4 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Supposedly, deep within the mountain is a cave where Jutaculla lives and dances. He holds court along its rocky ridges. As in all devil-like creatures of lore, he seems quite sinister, but in reality, he's somewhat of a sweetheart... I should know. He let me off with a warning for speeding on Forest Road 140. Could've been worse.

Legendary Plymouth favourite boggo P480 (W51312 & W51327) crosses over Tamerton Creek with the 13.20 Plymouth - Gunnislake. I found this print at the bottom of a reject box, the reason being that about a quarter of the shot had my thumb in it. A rather naff error for an aspiring photographer so there it lay for well over thirty years. So the thumb has been cropped and the clarity sharpened with a bit of colour added to present a much better version than my embarrassing original.
Poem.
Most heralded, stark and infamous of valleys.
The northern and southern slopes produce an outstanding symmetry in this shallow reed-laden lake.
What devilish, deadly deeds were committed where “X” marks the spot, treachery and massacre.
And yet, for all its credentials, to chill the blood with gruesome acts, even when the clouds and temperature fall, the sheer awesome magnificence of this place can not be overstated.
THIS IS GLENCOE!

This 'powerful and legendary' 1947 Ferrari was on display at the LeMay Car Museum in Tacoma Washington. On the sign in front of this beauty, it reads: "The 166 Spyder Corsa was the first Ferrari model sold to the public, beginning in December, 1947. The car here, serial number-004C, is the oldest complete Ferrari Spyder Corsa in existence with original castings, fasteners, and an extensive documented history. It features an all alloy body. With its heads and block cast in May and June, 1946, a month before famed Ferrari designer Gioacchino Colombo singed off on the drawings, motor number 004C is the oldest complete, and still running, Ferrari engine known to exist."
I was told from a museum worker that this Ferrari is the most valuable car there. It's estimated value is over 4 million dollars.
I took a lot of images while in the museum, but have only posted one other image. It's in the comment box.
