The air spring in the original fork on my 1999 Cannondale F1000 aluminum-frame bicycle finally gave out. It wouldn't hold air anymore. It needed a rebuild but the design was over 20 years old so no repair/rebuild kits were available anymore. Now, thanks to Pat's 605 Cyclery in Norwalk, California, it has a new lease on life. They removed the original spec Headshok Fatty SL fork and replaced it with a single-sided Cannondale Lefty. It sounds simple but it wasn't easy, requiring properly machined and sized Cannondale adapter parts and careful measuring of lengths and angles. But the shop kept plugging on with it with the help of their Cannondale rep. The result, this 2 decade old model with an up-to-date Lefty front suspension might be one of the very few of its kind. It's rare enough that the Cannondale rep took a photo of it to share back at the home office I'm told.
Was it worthwhile? To me it was because it kept what is a very well-made frame from being junked and the handling has remained great. Plus, it looks great!
Also new are front and rear Shimano hydraulic disc brakes.
The paint on this flips from green to purple depending on the viewing angle. Cannondale called this color, “ChromaLusion Purpleen Gloss.”

I love going for long walks on the beach, usually alone, or with Sioux. I came across this crab claw and immediatly thought, Oh no, somewhere out their in that vast ocean their is a crab that will never play the violin again. so then I thought, okay you are freakin out man, so I went for another walk :>)

A left handed clock. Its surprisingly easy to read if you don't think too hard about it. A larger view of the puzzle posted earlier.
Getting down low to the ground and grabbing the macro lens for this one. To put size in perspective, the mushroom on the left (Pancho) is approximately 3 inches tall.
I have sad news to report: Lefty is no longer with us. He took a turn for the worse this morning and the vets tried to do everything they but eventually said it was his time. We were there with him until the end. We feel very sad to lose him so soon, but feel lucky to have had at least a little time with him, especially the last couple of days. I find it a little bittersweet to note that his right paw finally seemed to have caught up with his left in size (he used to suck his right paw like a pacifier, so much so it seemed to stunt its growth; his bigger left paw earned him his name).
