I was getting ready for uni and decided to attempt a shot for the day. I spent quite a while trying to get this right but in the end I gave up and decided I would just choose the best from a bad bunch! I think taking someone else's picture is much easier (and quicker) than trying to take your own! Oh and none of this would have been possible without my amazing boyfriend who bought me a remote :D Big thanks!!

Day 204:

A few days ago a co-worker of ours gave Sheri a little gift. No reason, other than

she thought that Sheri would like it. Sheri and I are left handed and so we both

liked it little message that this... I’m not sure what it is actually, but as I said, it’s

nice and we liked it. :)

I took a spill on the snow-covered steps on our deck a couple of nights ago and aggravated a shoulder problem I've been having. So, now with my right arm in a sling and unwilling to move very far without severe pain, my left hand has been forced to take over some things. I can still write with my right hand, but it's more difficult. Toughest things include buckling my seat belt, closing the car door etc.Hopefully I'll be back to normal soon, though.

Nikita Schoen's LEFT-HANDED DARLING is set in the rural 1930's American "Dust Bowl era" and centers on Calliope Darling, a young girl with a very unusual upbringing and a unique sense of beauty. Have her very unlikely parents prepared her well for the world? Calliope and the audience are transported from the macabre environment of her family's home to the surreality of a carnival sideshow, an equally bizarre court room, and more strange sights and sounds than the many many books she has read in her young life could prepare her for. With creative staging, a versatile cast, theatrical puppetry, original music, and a lot of mason jars, LEFT-HANDED DARLING will thrill you, surprise you, make you laugh and transport you back to a colorful era when Vaudeville ruled and a nickel was really worth something.

If you're in the Bay Area, you should come see LEFT-HANDED DARLING, because it's a wonderfully imaginative, highly entertaining play. (If you're not in the Bay Area, but would like to support this play and Foul Play Productions' New Writers' Program, you can donate to their Kickstarter project.)

Teach your children well

It's what a parent is supposed to do, right? In this case, the lesson involved some floating.

Teaching is also on our mind as it's now summer vacation for the big one and we need to do things to keep the mind busy and engrossed. We have fun with video games and running around. We do our best to make those moments learning experiences as well (What color shirt is Mario wearing? How many power pellets does Pac Man get to eat? How do you spell Oakland? How many "M's" in Main Menu?).

So far, I think he's on track. He can count to twenty most of the time. Knows his ABCs. Can identify the primary colors and a bunch beyond that. We're working on that lefthanded line drive swing. He can work a TIVO, DIrectTV DVR, Comcast DVR and DISH DVR along with Macs and PCs (admittedly, his Vista knowledge is lacking at the moment). He can also identify things that are "Old School".
