ESP has now officially stopped all orders for one-of-a-kind ESP Standard models. If you want anything special, you now have to use their CU$TOM $HOP. I bought this model from Xtreme Lefty Guitars (www.xlguitars.com). They have a huge selection, but ESP cut off all future unique orders, so once their inventory is gone, it's GONE.
We went to Pier 39 last night for Andy's birthday. There's a left handed shop there! It wasn't open but I'm definitely going to go back and have a look :)
Check out calilou for tons more pictures!
Back in the 1970s, it was possible to wander freely on onto the Docks at Newport (although you needed a permit from the Dock Manager's Office to take photographs).
Sadly, due to concerns about both safety and security that is no longer possible.
These pictures were taken on a Sunday morning sometime in the late 70s.
This short play by Clarence Coo about left handed people is really a clever reference to gays and lesbians in high school.

When I was in high school I fell out of a moving vehicle and broke (among other things) my shoulder. As a result I had to learn to write and do a lot of things with my left hand so I forced myself to become ambidextrous. I still obviously favor my right hand and arm… but if I had to I could do anything with my left side!

Being left-handed does mean that writing looks to be much more difficult than if you're right-handed; writing left-to-right means you are constantly hiding the words you've just written.
The latest addition to my arsenal. I've been looking for one since January and finally tracked one down.
The little man doesn't like me to photograph him these days, but I can't help myself. Especially when he's busy with his artwork. Unfortunately the new camera isn't so subtle when the flash goes off (because I was in the wrong mode). New lens(es) will help though.
Two violin-shaped basses created by Walter Höfner to appeal to upright bass players – a 1962 model similar to the one used by McCartney on “The Ed Sullivan Show” and a 2012 left-handed model created for McCartney for his performance at the Queen’s jubilee

My left-handed pencil drawing of a stump in preparation for a watercolor painting of a Wyeth idea. Drawing left-handed is a good way of loosening up for a right-handed artist.
My wife got a cool shot of Detroit Musician J Graves performing at the New Dodge in Hamtramck, with the mirrors next to the stage catching his reflection. For more on J go to www.myspace.com/jgravesmusic.

It's also part of series within the project, which I call left-hand-blind (LHB), in which I draw with my eyes closed and my non-dominant hand. I do open my eyes and use whichever hands I feel like for adding color.

Someone managed to drive this Ford Escort into a hole in the road outside the Cold Stores, Malpas Road, Newport.
This is more-or-less outside where the entrance to the Malpas Road Sainsbury's would be years later. Well before the construction of Heidenheim Drive.
Established in 1980, Southpaw Guitars is the world's largest left-handed music shop. My brother is a left and it was a life-long dream to visit this shop. I admit it was a fascinating experience to see all these pieces of art.

Bruce Kastulo Chen was born 35 years ago in Panama City, Panama. He made his Major League debut in 1999 and has pitched for the Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets, Montreal Expos, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Royals, which means there are still 20 teams he has not pitched for. He has been lefthanded at every one of his stops. Bruce Chen is proof, that like aluminum cans, lefthanded pitchers can be recycled forever...
