I bought a bunch of spray rose this morning from Whole Foods. I put them into vase and when I turn back, I found this left on my table.
Here is a Little Blue Heron busy with its hunting in the St. Augustine, FL harbor, January 18, 2023. These waders, big, medium, and small remind me of bison in that all they want to do is to be left alone. Where they differ is what they do if you don't leave them alone.

You left me, sweet, two legacies, -
A legacy of love
A Heavenly Father would content,
Had He the offer of;
You left me boundaries of pain
Capacious as the sea,
Between eternity and time,
Your consciousness and me.
You Left Me, by Emily Dickinson
I made it out today for the first time for a little while which was great. Unfortunately what wasn’t great was I left it a little late in the day to start shooting. I was literally in a race against Mother Nature as the light faded. I had originally planned another shot in my head only to find out when I got there that the sun was in the wrong place for the shot I wanted. Luckily I came across this shot and the light was just perfect. In saying that In Scotland during autumn honestly the light can change very fast and by the time I had taken my third attempt trying to catch the leave and the light just right the sun had nearly disappeared. Unfortunately with the disabilities I have it can often affect my energy levels so I feel I miss the best light to shoot at, but I have to be grateful for the luxury of being able to get out once in a while I guess.
These birds just fascinate me. Their diet is fish (and hence some people call them fish hawks). But look at those claws(talons) , those are not webbed feet. And they will dive down to a meter below the water surface to get their fish.
I must be home bound because here is another image of smoke.
I have not taken any new images of smoke for over a year, but I have a back log of hundreds of smoke shots to go though.
I am itching to try out some ideas on how to capture better smoke images. I even spoke with a PHD from MIT about them and he said it should work.
But the last few months have been a grind with work, it looks as if I am flat out until this show wraps in August. I won't be able to try anything out till the end of summer.
The posting and making smoke pictures is relatively simple process now that I've done several hundred and sometimes the results excite me. It's the set up and execution that is time consuming. I also get very moody shooting in a small spaces and have the habit of using colorful language.
I actually prefer to do what I refer to a "range free shooting". I enjoy not being tethered and roaming free and taking random shots, but currently commitments won't allow that.
So I have to be content working with what I have.
One smoke plume from an incense stick overlaid in photoshop. Hue and vibrance jacked up. Dust specks cleaned up.

It's been quite frustrating how little wildlife there's been at the pond this winter. (And then there's the issue of getting out there at all, which is another story.) So I was very happy to see two pairs of hoodies (hooded mergansers). Two drakes are shown here on a day with a few flakes falling. Siskiyou County, California
I've just recycled my old batteries a few weeks ago, darn it. But rummaging around I found a couple of old AAA ones that had missed the cull 😁
Into the water they go ...
Taken for Macro Mondays 9-May-2022 'battery' theme.
Happy Monday everyone, with hugs from NZ.

A small boat that was floating 12 hours previously in Chichester Harbour is left high and dry as the tidal waters retreated.
The amazing power of nature that has been repeated every day for billions of years and long before man/woman appeared on the planet!
Chichester Harbour has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty {AONB} and hills in the background are part of the South Downs National Park.
