With CN rebuilding 90s power left and right, the Coronado Subdivision is slowly starting revert to what it was long before my time - a line where SD40s ruled the rails. The big, fancy, modern AC units are too big for the over century-old branch line, leaving CN with little to no choice but to run the vintage power. I, personally, have no problem with that.

Part two of my ladybird + mushroom series. This is a different little lady - a red one - and I caught her just as she was about to fly off. I know it's not as technically good as the other shot but I like this lady's pose a lot more!

Processed differently . See below.

View from the Maid of the Mist as it left the falls towards the end of the trip.

Exchange Arcade, Nottingham. This is a 16x9 vertical crop which I use very rarely; it was the only way I could balance the picture the way I wanted.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We leave Lilliehöökbreen through the fjord and say goodbye to the glacier behind and head out, back into open water and the pack ice. At this point we had no idea of the weather phenomena we were going to sail into but the sheer majesty and spectacle of Lilliehöökbreen will stay with me for ever.....

After leaving the island we saw a number of seal as the fog and mist came in

Yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel…This was leaving Cades Cove….The light rays were amazing on this morning..Hope everyone has a great weekend…Thanks for your views and comments.

It's June in 1975 and we're watching the North Coast Hiawatha flying out of Rondout, IL traveling on Milwaukee Road rails, on its way to Milwaukee, then the Twin Cities, and eventually Seattle. There's an SDP40F along with a "B" E unit up front, and a conventional round end observation car on the tail. In between we can find a blue Great Northern dome car and a Northern Pacific diner. There's other photos of this train in my Amtrak album, if you care to look.

The Prairie Lines Brewery Job is returning from working the Anheuser Busch Brewery in South St. Louis City with one empty hopper from the Barley House for their yard just down the hill from here. This former Manufacturers Railway Company trackage has been passed through various companies since the MRS stopped operations in 2011. The Prairie Lines main customer is the here at the Anheuser Busch Brewery where they work the Barley House. They shove loaded cars up hill into the facility and bringing empties down they hill typically in the mornings and they are usually wrapped up by early afternoon.

Leaving Mount Brome and the Eastern Townships behind, Canadian Pacific's Brownville to Montreal train 251 is rolling through the fields of Brigham, a few miles east of Farnham, with a pretty eclectic consist and 86 cars on the headpin.

71000 " Duke of Gloucester" gets away from Ramsbottom with the 15:00 from Rawtenstall to Bury. With the crew looking on from the footplate I would say that a request to keep steam on from someone in the gallery had been made on this downhill section. I am not sure whether this was before or after some repairs to the engine as some of the paintwork is not finished and the steam dome is missing.

We live in the flight path of the planes going in and out of SRQ International Airport. Lots of air traffic before the Hurricane came to Florida. We made it through unscathed.

Leaving Assateague Island- poem from 2012

We camped on this island where wild horses roam and the sun rises over the Atlantic a few yards from the campground.

On a bright, early-fall day that somehow seems like years ago now, UP's "Marsh Job" leaves Milwaukee's Jones Island with empty salt hoppers for Butler Yard.

The Pointe St-Charles Switcher is starting to leave the Port of Montreal with a short cut of cars. Power is CN 4904 & CN 7060.

Leaving starts just one more of life's journeys. Sometimes the roads are straight--sometimes not so much. Be careful out there.
