It rains a lot in England so I thought this shot looking through my window seat was an appropriate photo as I was set to leave Heathrow Airport in west London and head to Paris France.

After the castle tour, we headed for the grounds, lake and castle gardens, a lovely visit had on a very warm summer day. Leeds Castle, Kent. August 2019.
I am trying to finish up a project here where I am volunteering, so I may not be able to comment much over the next week or so. Then I will be without regular Internet for a while, as we travel. I will pop in when I can, but probably won't have much time.

Leaving the woods.
A mother grizzly comes out of deep woods and checks for danger while her cub inspects a salmon carcass, Chilko Lake, BC. The north temperate rainforests are so dense that the bears become invisible only a few feet into the forest, so the best places to see them are along the shores of lakes, rivers and estuaries, especially during salmon runs.

A photo taken from a ferry boat leaving the Ryoutsu (両津) port for Niigata, the capital city of the Niigata prefecture.
The mountain range in the left is Kosado (小佐渡), while the one in the right is Oosado (大佐渡). Ryoutsu is located in the lowland between the two mountain ranges.
