Young women taking a breather outside Curve Theatre. We had just seen War Horse and taking a small refreshment in the watering hole opposite (The Exchange) which is a great place for people watching.
PHEW! I'm so glad to get this blog post finished and into the great wide world before the weekend truly begins!
Though I'm still new to the process of taking green screen pictures, I think this one turned out all right! Read a bit more about it on the blog if you like. Full credits, as always, included. FOR FREE!

The crafty seed part was used 5 times, and it's pretty obvious how. This build was definitely not paintstaking. . .
In honor of my father, who taught me how to paint, and had to deal with my crazy painting skills / mistakes. A big shout out to all you fathers out there who help teach young men these skills!

Through the creations that I build, I hope to inspire other young (or perhaps older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity. We all need a positive way to express ourselves, so let's let LEGO be an extension of us. Your creativity belongs to you, and nobody can take that away. Build what you want to build, and how you want to build it.
The Rolex Learning Centre ("EPFL Learning Centre") is the campus hub and library for the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), in Lausanne, Switzerland. Designed by the winners of 2010 Pritzker Prize, Japanese-duo SANAA, it opened on 22 February 2010.
Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, partners of the Tokyo-based design firm SANAA, were selected as the lead architects in EPFL's international competition of December 2004. The team was selected among famous architects and even some Pritzker Prize Laureates such as Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Jean Nouvel, Herzog & de Meuron, Ábalos & Herreros and Xaveer De Geyter.
The construction took place between 2007 and 2009. It cost 110 million Swiss francs and was funded by the Swiss government as well as by private sponsors (Rolex, Logitech, Bouygues Construction, Crédit Suisse, Nestlé, Novartis and SICPA).
The building opened on 22 February 2010 and was inaugurated on 27 May 2010. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolex_Learning_Center
Miss Lily has seen many snowmen on flickr and wondered about them so we started by reading this book. Miss Lily thinks the snowman here looks a lot like Aunt Owwee's man They both like bright hats.

My daughter Paige trying reading up to try and get herself out of Auto and into manual settings, doing really well so far but like most people it takes alot of practice and patience.

A great moment of life is seeing wild animals in their own natural habitat. Cannot beat it, and very addictive.
Just back from 'Tour de Bear' in the Canadian Rockies, Western Canada. Very tired, but some absolutely beautiful wildlife moments and worth every minute we put in. And there were a lot of minutes too, with us spending hour after hour, and day after day looking for wildlife.
Also, met a number of great photographers around our trip. All out in the golden hours searching for these charismatic animals.
Two siblings black bears, one black and one brown in colour. We named these bears Lilly and Marshall
they actually chase each other away but as long as they can't see each other they are fine. just like people.

Ten days ago I posted an image of a female Hyena teaching her sibling how to play with a stick. It didn't take the youngster long to find out what to do with it.
Prompt: DSLR detailed, early morning, Alaska present day, bear is teaching her cub to fish, on a log crossing a stream, wet stones foreground, moss clumps, salmon splashing midstream, midground fallen logs, pine forest, mist rising, snowy peaks in background, ultra-realistic

While waiting for my other half and my daughter who were shopping in C&A's I was quite happy to watch these two ladies discussing the pros & cons of wearing face masks.
It was a very animated conversation with lots of arm movements and hand gestures. I just stood there snapping away, knowing that I would definitely get a keeper or two out of the situation.
In the end I did get two shots of this scene worth keeping. It was a hard choice which one to upload, so I've decided the other one will follow soon.
Stay Safe :0)
Thanks for taking the time to view my image. Your comments, faves & constructive criticism are greatly appreciated.

Chip Oakenbrow decides it is time to teach the younger boys of his Lenfel village the art of hunting. As luck would have it, Chip and his young companions happen upon a black bear just exiting its cave. This is the perfect opportunity for Chip to show his apprentices how hunting is done in Lenfald.
Well, this is my first CCCXI entry. I built this small dio for the "A Child's Life" category. I experimented with a new technique for the trunk of a tree. Anyways, have a great day! :)

My young boy, four years old, is following a course for children in this gym of my hometown. We had an opportunity to visit the gym before Christmas, and I was amazed by the ability of the young ones training there.
Self explanatory. I love the way my daughter's eyes betray no fear of the huge B-double road train truck coming by in the other lane. Looks like the car needs a vacuum to suck up the dust visible in the sun....

Leonard: Why are you learning Chinese?
Sheldon: I believe the Szechuan Palace has been passing off orange chicken as tangerine chicken, and I intend to confront them.
Leonard: If I were you, I'd be more concerned about what they're passing off as chicken.

This shot really defined the moment when I realised that I needed to move on to the d7000 I have now. This otter was feeding close to shore and when I saw her heading in I had moments to get down behind some rocks and ready to shoot.
The light wasn't great and I was going to struggle at lower iso's - problem was on the camera I was using that adjustment was menu driven and I daren't look away or move too much so I had to shoot as things were.
If, and it's a pointless if, I'd had the d7000 a quick role of the wheel and the iso would have been on the up instantly.
If this had been sharp I reckon it would have been my favourite otter image - looks like something out of a cartoon. Don't get me wrong, still a great moment and magical experience and I'm grateful for that.
....oh and I think the latest lesson I've learned is that I need to spend far too much money, for me anyway, on a new lens!
