After I had laid the World-Wide KAP Banner out near the marine diesel that has been rusting on the beach at Anaehoomalu Bay since before I moved here, two women walked by to check it out. Afterward they stopped and asked if I was going to send a camera up my kite line...So I told them about KAP, and about the World-Wide KAP Project, the banner, the whole works. They watched me photograph it for a while, then walked back to read the signatures on the banner.

As much as I'd love to have clear skies for the aurora, I have learned that they can be visible in the clouds. It is more of a challenge and it takes long exposure photography to bring out the colors. This was taken at a time one of my aurora forecasting apps gave zero chance for seeing the aurora where I am.

We have a large bowling alley near to us, so it was decided to take Micah along and let him have his first real go.

With the bumpers up and a ramp he managed to do quite well - even beating his dad!

At Home Learning - 2020

One of those Seagull chicks that were hatched on the roof of a shed by the water less than 2 months ago. Two of them are still there. This one was on the edge of the roof, appearing to be making an attempt to take off. I have sen other similarly aged chicks on the rocks in the area.

It is almost beyond the 'screeching' stage.

Much younger, much thinner. I got my pilot's license at Wilgrove Air Park in 1997. I am posing in front of one of the Piper Cherokee 140 trainers. This is a scanned 35mm photo touched up in Aperture.
