Much younger, much thinner. I got my pilot's license at Wilgrove Air Park in 1997. I am posing in front of one of the Piper Cherokee 140 trainers. This is a scanned 35mm photo touched up in Aperture.
This is cool- you can touch on of the globes and it applies a different data map to the big globe. From the feedback, it looks like the texture is fetched via a image file at a URL.

today i got to help out an artist on a nearby ranch. she's building a straw-bale house, and i helped in plastering the upper section near the window with a mixture of straw and clay applied with bare hands and molded to the frame.
it was something new and fun to learn about, and it was great to work with my hands again!
On 26th April, K-pop Academy Students learnt about Samulnori. Nami Morris, a senior teaching fellow at SOAS, came to the KCC to talk about Samulnori, it's origins, history and the instruments.
Nami gave a demonstration on the janggu, one of the instruments, and taught the students about the importance of breathing. The students learnt basic rythms on the four different Samulnori instruments.
At the end of the class, three students were awarded with special gifts, concert tickets for the B.A.P concert, taking place on 27th April. The students received their awards from Mrs Hye-Jung Jeon, the project director of the KCC, for their homework- Kimberley for her art skills, Katie for her Youtube video and Philip for his creative baking.
This has to be one of my favourite shots taken to date. A young Bouquetin (also known as an Alpine Ibex) looks on after its mother whilst crossing the rocky landscape below the Saas Grund glacier (background) in the Swiss Alps. 'Learning from Mum' seemed an appropriate title for this photo as the young Bouquetin kept stopping and then chasing after its mother, trying to work out where to go. A pretty special moment to capture.

This 4.3 acre nature preserve is located on Little Sarasota Bay near the entrance to Historic Spanish Point in Osprey.
Learning HDR, still lots and lots to learn. I attempted to catch the sun on this one, unable to keep the composition though (La cathédrale Sts-Pierre is a massive building). Two shots merged to this one. And yes, it helps to get a proper stative before attempting to create multiple shots for HDR processing. ;) Photographed in Malmedy, Belgium
