Natural Henna artist September Reed visits the Avondale Regional Branch Library's teen summer learning program to share information on the history of henna, the process of creating paste, and the resulting stains. Each participant practices drawing their design and applying (lotion) henna—(there is no white henna!) Everyone received a practice tube of white lotion and a tube of brown henna to take home and apply.
Our Residential Bridge Program is an immersive experience that allows incoming, high-potential freshmen to get a head start on the academic year. The six-week program is filled with community activities, academic development and community learning. We’re proud of our 2019 Residential Bridge students for successfully completing the first module of our three-semester experience. These students are a testament of hard work, dedication and perseverance!

More than 25 participants from TIB and Climate Finance Governance Network attended the workshop and learned on how to best communicate messages on climate finance.

As Amandalynn and Dirty Bandits illustrate the beautiful nature of New Zealand’s Fairy Tern and Chatham Island Taiko, the hope is to enhance an appreciation of these endangered creatures. Combined with the text reading ‘You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone’ repeated over and over again, this piece acts as a reminder to treat nature with care. “No amount of regret later can bring these birds back once they’re gone.”

Whilst waiting for steam loco R-711 to be serviced and return to the train at Ballarat station, my carer took me to the Rusty Spud restaurant in Ballarat Central. After lunch, he taught me how to play backgammon. Here I am, deep in thought and learning the game whilst drinking lattes. When we finally left the restaurant to see the steam train, it was raining so we just went to a bakery nearby and drank more coffee. 3:08pm, Sunday the 19th of May, 2024. We recently visited two different classes taught by Dr. Shameem Rakha, one Classroom Management (TL 310), the other Diversity in Schools and Society (TL 330).
