VSU Learning in Retirement members car-pooled to Thomasville, GA to view thousands of artifacts, documents, prints, posters, and photos chronicling Black History on the campus of Douglass High School. We saw a collection of African-American artifacts from slavery times and viewed exhibits on the Buffalo Soldiers and notable African-Americans including Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Heisman Award winner Charles Ward Jr.

After touring the museum we ate lunch at the Seminole Wind enjoying a buffet of all things Southern.

The little female pup is spoken for when they can get out here to get her. She is the one that is not afraid to get out and wonder all over. I just hope nothing happens to her before they can come out for her. The male stays closer to the dog house and is quick to run for it at times. He has a healthy fear of the unknown. They are both learning that hands bring good feelings.

All the third grade students at our school (and several other area schools' third graders) attended "Agricultural Awareness" at Tifton Campus University of Georgia. It was held in the Arboretum and the NESPAL building. My students also met the entomologist that I worked with last summer and toured his lab.
