Aviation buffs will probably like this. The image depicts Heathrow 27L at sunrise. Note the end of runway lights in the distance...
Note: The image is a bit blurred due to the low shutter speed. I did my best to recover detail, but my trusty old SLR isn't very comfortable at ISO 3200.

Winter 1978 at Georgian Peaks Ski Club in Ontario. I can't decide what I love more: my tulip snowsuit or the safety straps on my skis.

Weekend Training about Self-directed learning in a (too) complex world.
Learning is a lifelong challenge. This challenge has been getting more and more complicated recently. Somebody would say, a more complex world is responsible for that, and we would agree. Competencies are a new trend and the professional market speaks about them around-the-clock. Somebody would say, it’s unknown which competencies will be really up-to-date in 10 years and we would agree, but only partially.
How can we actually gain and strengthen competencies we need as individuals, citizens, people, employees, freelancers or founders? Which concrete instruments can we use instead of being confronted with a too general “learning by doing” attitude? Which competency model is making sense for you and how can you organize an effective and enjoyable learning journey in which you are your own guide?

That's me, reading the fantastic book "The moment it Clicks" by Joe McNally. Inspired by his rough and dirty, but oh-so-elegant on-location seat-of-your-pants shooting style, I set up some lights of my own for a quick shot. There's a honeycombed strobe to the left with orange gel and a bare flashgun on the floor to the right behind the bag. I then dragged the shutter for 1 second to get that lovely fill.
It almost looks like natural light. And I guess that's the beauty of this style of lighting.
