Colorado Springs, CO - This week's Flickr Friday theme is “real” so had an idea, I went to iFLY which is an indoor skydiving facility here in the city, and wanted to capture people flying for real.
There was a little girl who was in the tank for the first time and I took some pictures. The guy on the left of the image with fists in the air of triumph was her father. One could feel the power of love in this real moment of triumph.
Two young mute swans on the runway.
Many thanks to all who comment, fave or just enjoy looking, it really is very much appreciated!
And learning how to use Lightroom 5...I am used to old Photoshop CS4 but decided to try Lightroom 5 and I love it! There is however a learning curve and I have experienced some frustration. But it is indeed a great program and I do recommend it.
Hope all is well in the world of Flickr!

Great Horned Owlet. Learning to fly. This magnificent, powerful hunter bird relishes on frogs, insects, mice, rabbits, squirrels, skunks and several other smaller birds. Its hunting time is from dusk and all through the night. In fact, these large predators in the skies also savor house cats and porcupines. They also hunt their own kind. To digest the house cats or porcupines, these owls need to have a great digestive system. Sometimes, they swallow their prey as whole and then regurgitate pellets comprising fur, bones and other parts you do not want to hear about! IMG_8445
One of the adult sandhill cranes showing the colt how to pull corn kernels from a husk of corn...a really neat experience to watch.
that not-at-all-good feeling when you discover an error that requires taking the needles out and unraveling half of your work so far. but such is learning…
The fawns are learning to graze. Still reliant on momma's milk, though. Yearling buck behind this fawn. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
Learning the preferred habitat of species is key to finding and photographing them. If you are in the Black-and-white Warbler's range and see an oak tree with lots of lichen-covered dead branches. Spend some time looking for one of these active little birds. Fairly easy to spot because they are always moving. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
