Black Skimmer getting ready to feed its chick... Please excuse the clutter in shot...Couldnt isolate the subjects...too many Skimmers! (...a GREAT problem to have!) :>)

Thanks for looking...

This mama turkey has brought her little ones into the woods near my house three days in a row! I was very surprised to find them hiding under plants in a garden near the bird feeders on Sunday! I am hoping to get better shots in the near future, but am posting this now so you can get an idea how cute they are.

Great Blue Heron, juvenile

Abseiling instructor and pupil. No need for showers after this sort of sport.

This Derby to Neville Hill route learner has been around for a few weeks now, but its the first time I've picked up on it. Brightening up Woodburn Junction the celebrity HST heads into Sheffield

Spanish Imperial Eagle (Aquila adalberti) juvenile Spain_9176

A rare eagle breeding only in Spain and Portugal, with some immatures dispersing into North Africa.

Very similar to the closely-related Imperial Eagle, but is darker overall and adults have a distinctive white leading wing edge on the shoulders which can been seen from below when flying. Juveniles (as here) are rufous and largely un-streaked on the upper-wings, underwings, and the breast compared to the heavily streaked Imperial Eagles.

Mostly found in remote forested landscapes, especially those with a high density of rabbits.

Here's a confession.

I'm an on the go type of guy.

I can't sit still.

I feel like I have to always be doing something.

Here's to learning to relax.

Key word, learning.

Learning Forest: Drying off

this creation came from a shoot yesterday .. my son and i were jumping on the bed.. fun!!! and i made the background using a picture of mountains in colorado where my borther lives and a field of poppies i found on the internet!!! :)

my son has not been napping consistently or for very long, so this means changes are necessary in my rules for my 365... i don't want to quit the project..but i am going to loosen my requirements.. since i rarely get use of that free chunk of time in the afternoon..i am just going to have to try my best to take a picture and whether or not i do a lengthy manipulation will have to depend on my son's needs..

:) i'm trying hard not to be disappointed about making huge changes with my stream.. but in a way i think it will help me grow as a photographer to try and come up with interesting shots that don't need much processing... but don't get me wrong..if i find the time to process a photo.. i certainly will! ... since it is one of my greatest joys and forms of expression... just wanted to give a head's up about where my stream might be heading..

:)

also will check in with my friend's streams later tonight.. have to post this and run unfortunately

special thanks to JoesSistah for the radical wings!!!

Lismore NSW Australia 2021

Sydney's first ballet class. This was taken shortly before she left the class. She only made it 10 minutes into the 45 minute class before giving up. I think it was too overwhelming for her being in there with the big kids. It didn't help that Jessie kept giving her instruction...haha. I kept telling Jessie to let the instructor give her guidance, but Jessie being the teacher that she is, kept telling Sydney what to do.

Next week, we will make sure she is in an age appropriate class. :)

flamingos offer lessons in makeup and in impersonating a question mark...

These 2 juvenile Osprey were practicing flying. They didn't leave the nest... just up and down. They will be gone soon though.

Taken at the Roger Waters British Summer Time concert, while attempting to find refreshments during the beautiful sunset.

Sarah, trying out her legs! She's doing pretty well, huh?

(A cameo appearance by Maria, from Maria's Garden, otherwise known as Grandma!)

Glasgow University from Kelvingrove. I just liked the flowers, that's all.

These two young colts are already (about four months old) learning the skills to become stallions. It was so much fun to watch them! The one on the left is named Cresenete and the dark one is Poseidon.

whilst taping up my living room windows to start decorating, i decided to use the paper to write some irregular portuguese verbs on so i could get familiar with them. they're not easy as they obviosly defy the rules of the patterns i've become familiar with so i have to learn them parrot fashion. i thought it would be a good way to add practice whilst i'm decorating the front room

“I’m Learning to Fly, but I ain’t got wings” This old railroad trestle spans the South Saskatchewan River in South West Saskatchewan where the Red Deer River joins the system -just East of the Alberta border. It is one of my favorite places in the world, I have spent a lot of time fishing and camping around there. The whole area is known locally as "Out West". This trestle was built in 1913, and was decommissioned in 1993. I had never seen it from this angle before, but was impressed how long , and how straight it is. Obviously Aliens helped build it, like Stonehenge. Oh, and I bought a drone.

Well I started out down a dirty road

Started out all alone

And the sun went down as I crossed the hill

The town lit up the world got still

Im learning to fly but I aint got wings

Comin down is the hardest thing

Well the good old days may not return

And the rocks might melt, and the sea may burn

Im learning to fly but I aint got wings

Comin down is the hardest thing

Well some say life will beat you down

Break your heart, steal your crown

So I started out for God kno ws where

But I guess Ill know when I get there

Im learning to fly around the clouds

But what goes up must come down

Im learning to fly but I aint got wings

Comin down is the hardest thing

Im learning to fly around the clouds

But what goes up must come down

I'm learning to fly

I'm learning to fly

My ma, 'the poet', who is the litle girl on the left, also wrote this poem:

Learning Time

Old stone wall giant in height

A two year old holds tight to the hand in sight

Swarms of Green with kaleidoscope heads held high

Holding breath what's at the end of the adventure of night.

Peeping and plodding along, around the curving path, not sure what's to be

Oh a mass of Green not a disappointment to see

A gentle hand on it pulls tight, not just a bunch of Green but a smell of delight.

A voice of knowledge now explains nature's way

The bunch preciously held is on its way

Mint in the making for lunch it will be

And a two year old has learnt something else for free.
