Learn To Fly

Foo Fighters - There is Nothing Left to Lose (1999)

youtu.be/1VQ_3sBZEm0

The two drug dealers who appear at the beginning of this video clip of Foo Fighters, trying to camouflage drugs on the plane, are Jack Black and Kyle Gass, two musicians who make up the rock group Tenacious D. This song will never be the best song of the rock history, even if the lyrics say so. Nor will they be remembered as one of the best rock bands. But something if they have both: they are two very funny guys. And his music videos and concerts, more. A good group. And "Tribute" a fun video clip.

A film to think and reflect on. A highly recommended film.

Y entonces fluye a través de mi como la lluvia. Y no siento otra cosa que gratitud por cada instante de mi estúpida e insignicante vida.

No tienen ni idea de lo que le hablo, seguro. Pero no se preocupen... algún día la tendrán.

"Life fits in a 'click', in the blink of an eye, in any flake of oatmeal. It is about distinguishing what is worth from what is not"

...Squeeze every second of your life. Learn to fly, even if only as a simple plastic bag blown by the wind blowing in the streets. Otherwise, you will have flown through life... without having understood your own life.

PS: There is one thing I don't like about this photo... the use of pesticides. I prefer organic, ecological and sustainable crops. Pesticides kill insects. If the insects die, the birds have no food. And every day that passes, there are fewer birds... simply because there are no insects. The only species that is a plague on Earth... is humans.

PS: And as explained in ecology and ecosystems or the same words of the best ecologist, oceanographer and limnologist, Ramón Margalef... no plague can survive. Sooner or later... all the plagues, they finish and they are extinguished.

Happy summer.

Exposure, is there a right one? I often utilize my histograms and the theory of ETTR. (Expose To The Right) However, that does not always render the most ideal image, even when manipulated in post. This shot was slightly underexposed and shot in RAW. The result better reveals the suns rays than the one with the right histogram. Perhaps it is best to keep on learning,

Onboard a modern sailing ship

Rigging is divided into two classes, standing, which supports the mast (and bowsprit), and running, which controls the orientation of the sails and their degree of reefing. Configurations differ for each type of rigging, between fore-and-aft rigged vessels and square-rigged vessels.

A baby Burrowing Owl trying to reach the log but didn't seem to make it.

and they call it fashion!

While I was working from home, a baby pigeon was flying for the first time and landed in front of my window. I’m not that fond of pigeons to be honest, but witnessing this fragile creature discovering the big wide world for the first time really made my day ☺️

Why do we publish our work on Flickr? Isn't it because we like it, even are proud of it? Just a thought....

Love to watch spring cubs learning the ropes by their very protective mamas. This sow took her cubs along with her primarily for safety, but learning is always in play. Boars in the area don't always play nice, so she wants to keep them close by her side.

.. a Japanese temari ball is made!

For the LCoF challenge: "homemade"

Homemade, but not by me! A friend who is experienced in making these beautiful and intricate Japanese balls brought me a beginner's kit.

No surprise that I can admit I didn't make the finished ball here, but Laurie did while she was here!!

More about temari balls, if you're interested:

Temari balls come in different sizes and are embroidered with complex geometric or ornamental patterns. They're created with simple materials including paper, rice husks and cotton thread, but temari artisans can create a staggering range of patterns including flowers, stars, birds, flowers or even waves. (Japanese tourist board website)

The balls are a folk art form and Japanese craft, originating in China and introduced to Japan around the 7th century A.D. Temari means "hand ball" in Japanese. Balls made from embroidery may be used in handball games and other such similar games
