A soul in tension that's learning to fly
Condition grounded but determined to try
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies

I found this fledgling blue jay the other day when I was watering the garden. I inadvertently sprayed him because he was hiding in the bushes. He hopped away (was not able to fly) and did not seem to have very much energy. Not knowing if he was hurt or not, I watch him for a little while. I called a help line and they suggested putting him in a low branch of a tree. He seemed tired, had his eyes closed and did not move when I approach him. I picked him up with a blanket and put him on a branch. He stayed there for hours. The next day, he was gone. I hope the mother found him and took care of him.

Things weren' t going my way
I was feeling down all the time
You held me through the pain
Stood by me in the rain
So today I'm free
Feeling fine all the time
Don't have to wait and see
We're on a one way dream
Like the clouds I'm flying and I'm...
And now I' m flying high above the sky
And it' s all because of you
I got a feeling in my heart
My life can really start
And it' s all because of you

My fav band is the Foo Fighters so as soon as I saw the theme I knew my pic was going to be inspired by one of their tracks. Learn to Fly is one of the first tracks that got me into their stuff so it felt right to try to find something connected to the word Fly. HMM!

10/1/08 - A few of my truest best friends came to the funeral today, along with the football team. It comforted me more than they'll ever know. I have learned to surround myself with good people all my life and it's definitely paid off. If I could make everything better I would, but we must accept the pain and move on. I will fly.

It was a fully enjoyable cruise gathering the freshest Tasmanian seafood, which included salmon, lobsters, oysters, sea urchin, and abalone, straight from the water and served with delicious local produce in the stunning surroundings of Bruny Island.

I'm looking to the sky to save me, looking for a sign of life
Looking for something to help me burn out bright
I'm looking for a complication, looking 'cause I'm tired of trying,
Make my way back home when I learn to fly high

Viviendo en el cielo
Aprende a volar cuanto antes
Si no puedes con tus brazos
Hazlo con tus sueños
Porque ni el suelo ni la realidad
Son un buen lugar
Para los que no queremos morir
Para poder vivir en el cielo...

Foo Fighters › Learn To Fly
Run and tell all of the angels
This could take all night
Think I need a devil to help me
Get things right
Hook me up a new revolution
Cos this one is a lie
We sat around laughing
And watch the last one die
Im looking to the sky to save me
Looking for a sign of life
Looking for something help me burn out bright
Im looking for complications
Looking cos Im tired of lying
Make my way back home
When I learn to fly (high)
Think Im done nursing the patience
I can wait one night
Id give it all away
If you give me one last try
We live happily ever trapped
If you just save my life
Run and tell the angels
That everything is all right

Well, that time has finally come.
It’s taken a while, but we are finally here.
It’s been non-stop, and it’s been tough at times, yet somehow it has come to this point.
I’ve now been posting photos every weekday for 2 years straight.
I don’t fly, but time sure does.
See you tomorrow.

It is a remarkable thought that the Scottish Motor Traction group, who had extensive interests in Scotland's road transport industry, also ran its own airline during the 1930s. As well as providing air services and air taxis you could learn to fly by the SMT! This advert shows the aerodrome at Macmerry, near Haddington in East Lothian as the base for the school - that meant you could get an SMT bus out there! The airfield here opened in 1929 and closed in 1953. The advert mentions some famous planes of the age - de Havilland and Avro (A V Roe).

I will never go professional. First and most important of all, my skills and quality of works is not yet up to the level of professional standard. Secondly I am lazy and slow learner. This is no professional attitude. I hate marketing. I will not have business at all. Lastly going professional is very stressful and very competitive nowadays. I will never make it.
However once in a while I will be day dreaming. If I go professional, what will I do?
Wedding and event photography is very demanding, highly stressful and too much time pressure. I don’t like travel year round to shoot stock photography. I like staying home. It is almost impossible making a living nowadays by shooting local landscape. May be architecture photography I think.
I read a UK magazine article interviewing a Vancouver professional photographer working in this territory. He mentioned the essence of architecture photography as working on light and composition. You spend a whole day on the site shooting a few pictures. Not very stressful I guess.
But again it is very competitive. Now he has to leave Vancouver and move to Manitoba in order to explore a new market.
The conclusion is that doing business is forever tough. So it is always better to stay as a hobbyist!
I visited BCIT Aerospace campus in the weekend during the Richmond Doors Open event.
I took a few shots of the beautiful campus building.
Happy Monday!
