Hmm... I don't know how to feel about this one exactly. I was just kinda messing around and I haven't really done much lately. So tell me what you think?

My daughter has been getting horrible grades in spelling until I started doing this. I create these crazy flash cards in photoshop, and then use them as the screen saver on our computer.
I get the spelling words in advance, and open photoshop, and just start google- image searching. I look for on tipoc pics, but also I keep the letters in mind that she cannot remember. I look for images that recall or could recall those letters' shapes, as well as reinforce the meaning of the word- a mountain replaces the letter 'a' in "peak" for example.
another strategy is that I interfere with the letter that she cannot recall- this week I have some one "stealing" the letter 'a' from the word 'steal', another week a baby bit off the corner of the letter 'w' from 'chew'.
The best spellers are visual. She is visual. I am trying to cement these connections in her head.
She has gone from failing to getting a's and a pluses last year. THis year she was getting C's and I'm waiting to get out first 'post-visual' test back.

During our honeymoon stay at Ubud Village Resort & Spa *amazing village*, we joined their 2 hours cooking class. They assigned 2 helpful chef to teach us how to cook some authentic balinese food - Soto Ayam, Pepes Ikan, Pelecing Kankung and Pisang Rai

The U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach Warriors played their last home basketball game against the Grafenwoehr Grizzlies March 6 at the Katterbach gym.
USAG Ansbach garrison commander Col. Christopher Hickey, garrison Command Sgt. Major Lester Stephens and 12th Combat Aviation Brigade Command Sgt. Major David Perkins, presented certificates, medals and coins to the Warriors as thanks for representing USAG Ansbach in the Installation Command Europe’s Men's Basketball League.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. you just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.

ok, pretty boring day today, except today, i knew exactly what i was going to take a picture of, i was so excited to see this one come out well because i knew that i wanted to photography this tree since yesterday. hope everyone's day was good!

I took this image this morning on a walk at Santee Lakes. I learned how to photograph these beautiful creatures last year from local bird and wildlife photographer, Steve Cirone, who was kind enough to show me how it's done. I was inspired this week my an email that Steve sent out showing some incredible dragonfly pictures that he and his wife Elena had taken the previous morning at this very spot. Steve uses long macro lenses and ring flash and twin flashes for his shoots so he is able to get incredible sharpness and the great depth of field that comes from shooting at small apertures. I'm going to try and get into one of his workshops so that I can try some of his equipment and learn from a master. His website is www.SteveCirone.com.
