My buddy Shane hit me up and asked me if I wanted to go take photos while he hit the new motocross track down at Pacific Raceways. So of course I agreed.
I used to ride motocross and race a little bit. I sold my bike last year and I really miss it. Riding was so fun and had so many memories of all the riding trips and places I went with friends.
Pacific Raceways shut down their mxtrack a few years ago and this weekend was the first weekend it has been opened again. Except it's a new track than what was there before and from what all the riders were saying, definitely not as good as the old one. It wasn't really photo worthy because it didn't have any big jumps or good corners. Plus I got kicked off the track after like five minutes.
The street bike track was sorta by the mx track so I walked over there and snapped some shots of those crazy dudes. Although they are both motorcycle racing, the type of racing and technique is way different. Here they are both leaned over like crazy though. One dragging knee over a long wide corner, and the only scrubbing the top of a roller.

Taking a rutty section at very slow pace. Our speed through this section was below 2 mph. I think our overall speed for the day was less than 3 mph, top speed was 16 mph. Four wheel driving is NOT about speed, but about making it through a tough trail without getting stuck or breaking something.
Houston - we have a leaner!
We get a lot of wind, and this is a result of planting a tree and then not staking it out for a year or two. They will lean...we have one that leans over for the bottom 4 feet of trunk and then straight for the next 30 feet in our yard. Cheyenne gets wind...
