An outtake from today's picture. Thought it was adorable.

...it's not always necessary to utter words when a friend is down...sometimes, a silent gesture of being around is enough to touch the heart and make them feel your presence...

I was ambling along Church Street in downtown Toronto when some flowers and this picket fence caught my attention. I stopped and crouched down to take some shots as a young man sat on the adjacent wall, watching me. After a while he asked what I was taking photos of, so I showed him and we got talking.

He told me that the building provides housing for Native Americans who are homeless or in need and that, inter alia, he was part Native American and part Central European, if I recall... I do remember that he had beautiful eyes, light... bluish maybe. We spoke for a while, exchanged a hug and I carried on walking towards St. Michal's Cathedral, site of another curious encounter.

Basil Salmon and Whole Wheat Pasta. Not great, not horrible. Too much basil, but it'd lack flavour without it. I could see myself eating again, but only if the shrimp is sold out. (box)

Shooting high-speed events indoors without a flash was an interesting challenge, especially with a body that doesn't handle low light situations well. Lesson learned for next year!
