Lean on me, when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend

I'll help you carry on

For it won't be long

'Til I'm gonna need

Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride

If I have things you need to borrow

For no one can fill

Those of your needs that you won't let show

You just call on me brother when you need a hand

We all need somebody to lean on

I just might have a problem that you'll understand

We all need somebody to lean on...

Lean Manufacturing Tools

smartmanagement.info/lean-management.html

Lean manufacturing is the implementation of the concept that anything that does not create value in the product is to be eliminated. It is the concept of more value for less work. As trained industrial engineers, it seems pretty basic to us. Its simplicity iswhat makes it work. While the Japanese are rightfully given credit for re-vitalizing the concept of lean, its roots really go back to Frederick Winslow Taylor of Bethlehem Steel in the 1880s and 1890s.Then it was called “Scientific Management.”

Sometimes in our lives we all have pain

We all have sorrow

But if we are wise

We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend

I'll help you carry on

For it won't be long

Had to lay on my back in the damp grass to get this lovely pair. So much flower for two tiny little stems.

I'm fairly sure you'll all have seen this fantastic levitation style by Brooke Shaden in her beautiful photo The Rise and Fall.

It's one of my favourite images of hers and I loved the levitation style so when I saw this boat I thought I'd try something similar. Of course it's nowhere near as fantastic as Brooke's but I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Not just because of the leviation but because it required a great deal more photoshop than it appears.

For a start my scarf was in a ridiculous position so I had to take sections of it from other photos I'd taken and edit it in. Then my jacket looked strange so I basically had to add loads onto it. Also the lens when this photo was taken was COVERED in rain drops and I didn't realise. So it was incredibly blurry and took various sharpening methods to get it looking at least vaguel sharp. Hence why the quality isn't too good.

Many thanks to my step-dad for letting me lean on him when he had surgery a couple of weeks ago ("if my surgeon could see me now!") and my mum for being my shutter woman since my remote wouldn't reach. IT'S A FAMILY PHOTO! Kind of. Family and step-family...? :P

Anywho, I'm off to Edinburgh tonight for the hogmanay street party (hogmanay is the Scottish word for new year's eve) and I can't wait. The fireworks are always stunning there.

2010 hasn't been the greatest year for me so I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to 2011. I'm usually quite sad at the end of a year but not this time.

Also I just want to say that even though I'm not exactly popular on flickr, I appreciate each and every comment, favourite or view to my photos. They mean a great deal more than you can imagine :)

Hope you all have a fabulous new year and kudos if you read this whole thing :P

Will be adding more to this set in the future.
