When UP got a waiver to use foreign power on the Geneva Sub across northern Illinois to operate detoured BNSF trains due to flooding, it even used foreign power on a couple of its own trains, as evidenced by this Ferromex unit leading an empty well train at DeKalb on 3-26-19.

Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore

.

Originally Lahore Stadium, the facility was renamed in 1974 in honour of the former Libyan leader Colonel Muammar al-Gaddafi following a speech he gave at the 2nd Organisation of the Islamic Conference meeting in Lahore in favour of Pakistan's right to pursue nuclear weapons. The stadium houses the headquarters of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

In 1995–96, the Gaddafi Stadium was renovated by architect Nayyar Ali Dada for the 1996 Cricket World Cup. Dada's redesign was done in the Mughal style, with red, hand-laid brickwork and arches. Dada also had plastic seating installed in place of the existing concrete benches. The lower portion under the stands was enclosed and converted to shops for boutiques and offices. Gaddafi Stadium was the first in Pakistan to be equipped with modern floodlights having their own standby power generators. On 23 October 2011 the Pakistan Cricket Board discussed renaming the stadium following the death of Gaddafi, to support NTC and Libya. The Punjab Olympic Association made a similar request in late October 2011 to the provincial chief minister, telling Cricinfo:, "I don't think his profile is inspirational enough to link with our cricket stadium's identity." As of April 2012, however, it does not appear that the stadium's name will be changed after all.

Pakistan has enjoyed some memorable moments on the ground, including a fifth-wicket stand of 281 between Javed Miandad and Asif Iqbal against New Zealand in 1976 and an innings and 324 run win against New Zealand in 2002. The stadium hosted the final of the 1996 World Cup, which was watched by over 60,000 spectators. However, despite the impressive capacity, the ground is often sparsely attended for Test matches, with sometimes as few as 1000 fans turning up. One-day internationals are more popular and crowds in excess of 20,000 are common.

On 3 March 2009, the scheduled third day of second Test of 2008–09 Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan, the Sri Lankan team's convoy was attacked by armed militants at Liberty Roundabout, near Gaddafi stadium. Eight Sri Lankan players were injured, including Sri Lankan captain, Mahela Jayawardene. The Sri Lankan team was air-lifted from Gaddafi Stadium to a nearby airbase, from where they were evacuated back to Sri Lanka.

The Panama flagged, 70,048gt 199.99 m NYK Line vehicles carrier, the CASTOR LEADER [IMO 9713894 ]

departing the common user berth, H Berth at Fremantle Port, Fremantle Port on May 6, 2016. Her last port of call was Melbourne, Victoria and she was departing for Singapore having arrived earlier in the day.

She was built in 2015 . The CASTOR LEADER was one of the larger vehicles carriers I have photographed at Fremantle Port. She has a car carrying capacity of 7,124 vehicles. Apparently whilst Western Australia was in the midst of an economy downturn in 2016, we where still are buying a significant numbers vehicles with our new car registrations one of the highest in the country.

The Hercules Leader (IMO: 9531753) is a vehicle carrier registered and sailing under the flag of Japan. Her gross tonnage is number 94,419, and her overall length (loa) is number 199.94 m. She was built in 2011 by Shin Kurushima Toyohashi Shipbuilding at Toyohashi, Japan and is operated by NYK Line.

I photographed the Hercules Leader as she departed from the Fremantle Inner Harbour on 11 May 2023. As she passes the North Mole light, she swings to port to follow the Deep Draft Vessel Approach (Transit Corridor). The pilot is expected to depart at the Inner Pilot Boarding Ground. Her next port of call is Laem Chabang. She was assisted by the tugs, Svitzer Eagle and Svitzer Redhead.

Got lucky today & found another cattle drive. This was not our intended destination when we left home. We thought we picked the less muddy dirt road. Afterwards I'm not too sure about that

CN 401 has an old school lashup consisting of GP40-2L(W)'s CN 9590 & CN 9675 with GP38-2W CN 4806 third as it approaches Turcot West with 72 cars in tow. While the leader is quite clean (and was recently one of two units on a CN Confederation Train from Montreal to Ottawa), the two trailing units are in a quite faded zebra paint scheme.

One of the stags at Studley Royal (aka Fountains Abbey). This male didn't have many problems with other males, though one smaller male did make a nuisance by nipping into the pack everytime the dominant stags attention was elsewhere but he was regularly chased off.

At Chatsworth Park Estate in Derbyshire, sometimes the sheep flocks are "super flocks" with several hundreds of sheep grazing together - if one moves on, they all move! :-)

With leadership comes great responsibilities...

like wherever we stop there had better be sweet tasting grass, fresh drinking water, definitely no foxes, dogs or mad humans in fast cars!

Oh to be a Shepherd! :-)

I'm presuming these are Swaledales. What i particularly like about them is that each face is so very individualistic - and strangely human like! :-) They have lovely facial characteristics if you care to zoom in and look at them closely.
